Life-Changing, But Requires Parental Effort
My 4-year-old daughter has been a dedicated thumb sucker since she first found her thumb at 3 months old. We werenโt too concerned at first, but at her last dentist visit, we learned that it was starting to negatively affect her teeth. Her dentist recommended thumb-sucking gloves, and after some research, these seemed like the perfect solution. At first, she was resistant to wearing them, but we got the blue pair and told her they were โmagic Elsa glovesโโthat little trick worked like a charm! Sheโs now been wearing them for couple of months (except while eating or using the potty), and weโve seen huge progress. The biggest challenge has been bedtime. She used to fall asleep with her thumb in her mouth, so without it, sheโs struggling to self-soothe. Itโs been an adjustment, but thatโs to be expected. Iโve caught her occasionally trying to suck her thumb in her sleep, but with the gloves on, itโs much easier to gently redirect her. We also had her sleep in our bed at first to help redirect her consistently. After two months, she no longer wears them and has stopped sucking her thumb. For parents frustrated that their child can take the gloves offโletโs be real, thatโs on you. These arenโt a magic fix; they require patience, consistency, and active parenting. If youโre not willing to guide and encourage your child through the process, donโt waste your money. But if youโre committed to helping them break the habit, these gloves absolutely work!

Great in theory!
These are awesome in theory but my child just pops out her thumb while sleeping and still wears the glove. Was hoping these would be a great reminder for my 7 year old to help break the habit of mindless thumb sucking, however she just removes the thumb piece while sleeping and continues to wear the glove cause she thinks itโs cute. The product is a good quality and lots of color options. Easy to clean, just pop them in with a load of laundry. The glove is a nice soft smooth material, causing no irritation to the skin after long wear. Easy to close snap button on glove. All in all if you can keep it on your childโs hand the product works well !

Working!
Working! We have tried a couple different "thumbcovers" as my daughter calls them, without much success. It was a struggle at 1st, and yes she can get her thumb out if she really tries, but it is a little harder to do than the last one we tried and with incentives & our firmly explaining our expectations to her it is working. If fact she doesn't even try to take her thumb out anymore. She understands that the "thumbcover" is a reminder to her to not suck her thumb. Our daughter LOVES pink and she doesn't mind putting this on at all. She voluntarily holds her hand out to get it put back on after meals or bath. This is our 2nd pair, The 1st pair we bought in orange b/c pink was not available. We have had the orange ones a couple months and they still work fine. We hand wash them when needed and they air dry quickly. When I saw them available in pink I just had to buy another set for our little princess. Although I am glad to say we don't really seem to need them anymore during the day, we will still need these for a while at nap and bedtime. The company was also very quick to respond and helpful with my last order. One of the pink "thumbcovers" arrived with a seam spitting apart already. I emailed them and received a prompt response the same day!. I received a replacement set today. As to a previous review about the plastic snaps, yes they do have plastic snaps. I found this to be an improvement though. Our previous pair has metal snaps and these are a little tighter snap. My daughter loves her "princess pink thumbcovers".

These gloves are a complete waste of money if your child has any intention of resisting the therapy since they are extremely easy to simply remove. We tried these rather expensive but comfortable looking gloves with our 2-1/2 year old as she is developing a concerning overbite but found they ended up on the floor after the first night. More frustrating and infuriating than the fact that we paid over $30 for some cheap spandex half gloves is the fact that the company peddling this garbage is impossible to reach to either share concern regarding the ineffectiveness of their product or discuss the possibility of a refund. Surprisingly, after no response to several emails to End Thumb Sucking LLC, I was also unable to get Amazon.com to reply to my concerns either. Way to go Amazon! Please don't waste the money on these unless you have it to waste and just can't stomach the thought of a something less comfortable for your child.

Never thought I could do it so easily
My son was born with a club foot and when he started sucking his thumb I did not want to force him to stop because he already had casting and bracing shoes to deal with and I felt like Thumb Sucking soothed him, so I let him go at it. As he grew, the habit grew with him and eventually he would not get his finger out of his mouth. Finally his finger got blistered often and had dead skin all the time. It really looked bad and I am sure to other people it looked disgusting. I was glad to find this product on Amazon by chance and ordered two pair as recommended by one of the reviewers. It was great advice. The first time I put it on him; he was excited about it, but then got frustrated when he could not suck on his thumb. He fussed and asked me to take it off around 3 times the first day but I explained that it is to stop him from sucking his thumb, I am not sure if he understood me but eventually he understood that he is wearing it for that purpose. To my surprise, the stuffed animal was a lot of help in helping him go to sleep. He hugged it to sleep when he felt like sucking his thumb and found it covered. It was kind of sad seeing him jerk his hand during his sleep remembering the habit. On day 8 he came back from pre-school without them on because they were so dirty and the miss took them off. He didnโt go back to thumb sucking but started asking for milk bottles whenever he felt like sucking it. Now I catch him sucking his thumb every now and then but he quickly removes it when he sees me. He just doesnโt want them back on. I am ordering another pair and maybe keeping them on for another week to make sure it is gone for good. The first pairs got worn out.

Good glove bad customer service
We ordered this product and got it within a few days. In less than 24 hours the snap of one of the gloves ripped off, I messaged customer service that day and they responded 2 days later saying they would send out a new one. It has been 12 days since then and I have yet to receive the second glove. My son is 18 months old, average size and the small fit him which is good. He could get it off with the first snap and the second snap left marks on his wrist it was so tight, so how this is made for a 2year+ I'm not sure, would recommend getting larger glove then the age they are saying. Overall, not a bad product, it worked for what is was intended, but wish customer service was better. Paid 30$ for one glove.... Update: We did receive a full refund with no hassle

Worked better than expected!
We put the glove on our 2 1/2 year old and he cried and fussed for a few minutes but that was it. He never put his thumb back in his mouth again and stopped attempting to after 1 day. Four days after putting the glove on we forgot to put it on after a bath and took him to church. He never sucked his thumb the entire time we were there. We put the glove back on for another week and a half and just took it off for good. Also, he has become more vocal and is interacting with people more than he used to. These gloves are a little pricey but worth every penny!

Easily removed by child and not adversive texture
My son (3) can definitely pull these off on his own. They are very difficult to put on though. They help him remember not to suck his thumb and they are good for daytime because it doesn't impair use. However, when he is drowsy he will still suck his thumb with the glove on. The material is thin and silky and doesn't "feel" uncomfortable for him to suck. He will still accidentally do this as he is falling asleep. We just use a cotton winter glove at night because that does NOT feel good to suck on and he is compliant in not removing the glove. Also, I feel like the value for these tiny little thin, flimsy gloves is awful. And the first day we used them during the day and he got the material all stratched up by playing on the playground. If he wore it during the day and during play they would be destroyed in no time. SO if your kid needs a reminder to stop sucking their thumbs, this would work probably, but so would some cheap-o winter gloves that you have laying around.

They did not stay on.
I was not satisfied with the product for the following reasons: 1. They were a solid lime green pattern not the aqau mermaid type pattern. Not at all the pattern pictured. 2. They came off the very first night my daughter wore them which made them not suitable for night time thumb sucking. What I did like 1. They were made from a nice breathable fabric. However, gets dirty very fast. 2. The concept of them was great but unfortunately did not work for us. We needed something for night time thumb sucking. Would maybe work for daytime sucking if child is willing to wear them.
