When my last keyboard's W key stopped responding from too much use, I searched and pored over reviews from various sites before settling for this purchase. So far, the items have met my needs, and at a cost that made my student's budget happy. I'll individually review the items received.First of all, please read the description of the item: the keyboard does not light up in multiple colors *at the same time*. However, it does cycle through blue, red, green, purple, turquoise, yellow, white (which looks grey since the keyboard is black), and "blue 2" by pressing "Fn + Tab." Yes, the keyboard has a second blue color, which is the last in the cycle. (If you quickly Tab through the colors, you'll notice that there are two blues next to each other.) If you leave this one selected, the keyboard will cycle through all the colors in the order listed. The keyboard's lights shut off after a period of unuse, which is great for power saving, but the letters themselves blend in with the keys if there is no backlight, making it difficult to come to the keyboard if the room is dark and such. The "key hit rate," volume, intensity of the backlight ("Fn + Esc" -- cycles through low, bright, and varying), and music can be controlled from the keyboard. The keys themselves are not larger than any other keyboard, but the letters on them are wider and easier to see. Over all... it just looks "cool," and I like it.The wide pad pictured is more for the keyboard than the mouse: it fits the keyboard's four feet very well and keeps it from sliding around. This was surprising, since the surface of the pad is very smooth. However, it keeps the keyboard in place when subject to average force. I don't see any sign of the thread unraveling around the edges.The mouse surprised me the most. I have small hands and fingers, and expected to keep using the last mouse I bought since that one worked very well for work and play, and was wireless to boot! But I was not disappointed. The mouse is comfortable for both me and my boyfriend, whose hands are much larger than mine. It has forward/back buttons where the thumb rests. The speed of the mouse can be adjusted with the button below the scroll, which is great since I prefer a very fast mouse for some applications and a slower one for others. The mouse buttons are more "sensitive" the higher up you go due to torque (it's just the way mechanical objects work -- I saw some reviews about the mouse being "too sensitive" and it might be because their fingers rest higher than mine do). The mouse continuously cycles through all the aforementioned colors at once, and as far as I know, can't be made to stay one color. Hopefully the light bulbs inside don't burn out...I did receive the OTG cable listed in the description. The mouse is independent from the keyboard so it always cycles through the colors, which i think looks pretty sweet. I don't think you can set it to just one color but that doesn't bother me at all. The keyboard feels pretty good and the keys are easy to push. Changing the colors on the keyboard is fast and easy. You can set it to where the keyboard cycles through all of the colors (which is pretty neat) but as far as i know (I could be wrong) you can't have multiple colors shown at once.(as shown in the images they give you) You are able to adjust the brightness of the keyboard and turn off the keyboard's lights. You can also set it to where the keyboard slowly flashes, I don't use this feature too much but it's cool for showing off. I didn't receive the OTG cable. I'm not that upset about this because i wasn't planning on using it anyways but if you were someone who was going to use it..you might just want to order a separate one just in case you don't receive one like i did.
