I really wanted to teach my son that physical movement and have him see that by him manipulating the object he can get it off himself. But since the rod comes off SO EASILY he doesn't have to do any work, they'll all fall off the rod cause the base doesn't stick to the rod. So he just pulls the stick off and plop plop plop. Don't get me wrong, it's still fun and you can do different games by removing the rod. Thus 4 stars. However, it's so much fun! My daughter (13 m) loves putting the rings on the post and watching them spin as they fall down. It's great for hand-eye coordination! She tries to put the ring on with two hands instead of putting one hand on the post to hold it steady. I look forward to her continuing to enjoy it for several years, though I don't know if it will make it that long. It seems like if a ring gets underfoot, it will end up crushed.
