It's a good upgrade to your Baofeng radio

Arrived on time and well-packaged. Installation on my Jeep Gladiator was easy. It has greatly improved reception on my Tidradio TD-H3+, especially in more remote areas. I have not yet checked SWR or transmission range using the antenna, but I do have high hopes considering the improved reception.

The antenna is well made and easily installed.

Don't buy is you don't have a VSWR tester or don't plan on buying a tester. Heck if you are a do it yourself and you don't have a VSWR tester why are you doing it yourself? You need to test your antenna and that is just a fact. The testers are cheap. Yes, you need to cut the antenna with a hacksaw or ideally with a strong pair of wire cutters. Once you cut it you test it and keep testing it until you the VSWR correct. The antenna will work for GMRS it just needs to be cut to work and tested. You need to test the antenna every year or 6 months depending on weather conditions and where you drive. Pretty basic RF stuff. VSWR testing is required on all cellular systems. Most of them have auto test now in the equipment but in the old school days I had to manually test those big cell sites and it took time. ;) You need to test your systems.

Very good antenna for the price

Only on the car two months, all the bolts that hold the antenna position on the mount have rusted. The antenna itself has rusted as well. The feedline is nice however the coax easily pulls out of the crimped connector. The rubber between the antenna base and car paint which is supposed to prevent scratching the car is deteriorating. I am retiring this garbage this weekend. Totally unsatisfied with product quality.

The mount is nice but the antenna feels cheap and fragile although it is working well. I foresee it breaking easily if I hit tree branches.

Gained couple more km's when installed to a hand held radio.

Seems to have attached good to rear hatch of Honda HRV. SWR below 2 on two meters. Below 2 on most of 70cm but with a +/- 5 Mhz input for most repeaters it can be a bit fickle. Coax could be a bit longer. By the time I tucked and taped it in place and routes to the front of the car there was not much coax left. So far I’m relatively pleased however. Only been on the car for a few hours so to be seen how well it holds up.

Easy to install despite the lack of instructions

Antenna portion is great but I couldn’t get the mount to go anywhere on my Dodge journey. Tried the doors and the hatch door, but angle was to far off for the mount to fit. Thankfully the antenna is a pl259 connector so I was able to order the mag mount so239 and use this antenna with it. Once I had that setup, with quite a bit of trimming I was able to get the SWR down to near flat 1.0 across the 144mhz (2M) band. For 70CM however, it is unusable as the SWR is above 3.0.
