Nice change to an old petrol one
I got this about a month ago and have used it a few times since then. I wanted to leave it until I'd used it a bit.I bought it to replace a very old and very dirty 2 stroke petrol strimmer and so far it's doing a great job. I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't be powerful enough for what I wanted or the battery life would be too short, but so far it's all good. The battery lasts about 20 minutes, so if that's a problem then you'll need to get a second battery. I expect that I will with time. It's much lighter and more comfortable to use than the petrol one and seems to get the job done in about the same time. Its also very convenient as it doesn't involve the usual hassle 9f finding the petrol can, realising its empty, looking for 2 stroke oil, and then spending15 minutes swearing whilst trying to get it started..As long as you remembered to leave the battery on charge, its available instantly. Its much quieter and doesn't vibrate as much. An added bonus is that it creates less mess as it doesn't splatter you with mushed up grass as much. All in all I'm very happy with it. It could do with being about 4 nches longer, but then couldn't we all ?

good enough for most strimming
Battery life is fine. I managed to do front and back edge strims 3 times before recharge. I already have a spare battery as I have other Bosch 18v tools. The machine lacks the power of plug in rivals but to be fair it was good enough for lawn edging and a few border weeds which is as much as I need. It folds down quite small and is very light and mostly easy to use. there's a pedal to change the head angle to do edging but I still need to end up getting my hands involved. Also the the ajustable main tube does not lock in the fully retracted position which is a bit of a nuisance. It does what I want it to though and a lot easier than extension leads and tripping over cables all the time.

The best strimmer I have ever used
Really first class design means that it is light weight and so well balanced that I can use it for long periods without any arm or back strain. It also cuts extremely well, the battery lasts longer than expected and the line auto-feed works really well! It is good that the batteries are from the Power for All 18V range as I now have several spares. In view of all this I can highly recommend it.

Lacks cutting power
If you just have very light, short grass you want to strim then this copes very well and it would recommend for that. Where it's not recommended and where it really struggled was with areas of tall, thick grass and even more so when it's wet. The 18v battery just doesn't generate enough power to keep the blades running at enough velocity to handle this type of grass and ceases to cut it. I wasn't expecting petrol equivalent power but was very disappointed just how far it was was from it. The battery drain is high too. That said the adjustable head is good for edging and difficult to reach areas, and it's fairly comfortable to use. The two clear benefits it has over my Stihl petrol strimmer are; effortless starting and good auto feeding of the cutting wire, there's no need to hit the cutting head off the ground to get more line it detects when more is needed very effectively.

Flexible and surprisingly powerful.
On first inspection the build quality might appear a little flimsy, but everything on this product is about reduced weight and improving balance, which it achieves. The head adjustments provide a wide range of cutting and trimming options and because of its lightweight, it can be rotated in use to provide a scything action, ideal for trimming our wildflower meadow.I’d say I’m getting around 35 minutes cutting from a 2.5ah battery, and between 15 and 20 minutes with a 1.5ah.Despite being lightweight it’s also proving remarkably robust, tackling nettles and larger weeds with no issues.Highly impressed.

Not as good as it could be
This item is quite well built and worked fine at first. Then, the lever on top of the strimmer that enables the head to swivel started malfunctioning and needed alot of effort to rotate. It now wont rotate at all. Also, the auto wind cord fails regularly l. I have to remove the spool to pull out the cord as it keeps getting embedded within the unit. ( looks like it could be a design fault according to other reviews )I contacted Amazon and was advised to repackage and return to an authorised repair center to fix. Unfortunately, I don't have the original packaging as it was too large to keep. Hence, I am stuck with the item unless I can find a container to return it in!Guess this is the downside of buying online....I will update this review if I make any progress with my return and repair.Update April 9th: I have managed to get the strimmer swivel function to work. The pole itself had spun around too far and needed to be re engaged with the body. The strimmer cord I will have to put up with..
