Review: Cool notice board - I bought this item for my Mum as a Christmas present. She has recently had a lovely new kitchen fitted. I thought this would look good in such a modern kitchen. I wanted one that she could pin onto as well as use magnets. The pinboards I looked at were rather "tatty". This one looked as though it would fit the bill.I was thrilled when it came and she absolutely loved it. In fact even my very trendy children thought it was cool and now want one for themselves. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Was it difficult/easy to mount?**
A: Depends upon what you are mounting it to....if using the materials included to mount to a wall....easy.  I wanted to put it on my refrigerator.  No magnets came with it.  I bought two 12-inch magnetic strips and glued them on the back with super glue.  That was easy but it required a trip to the store.  Looks great.  Keep in mind that not all refrigerator fronts (ie stainless steel) are magnetic.

**Q: Will this rust if placed outside at a pool club? The wood ones disintegrate after a year.**
A: It is a ferrous metal bulletin board with no obvious kind of coating on the surface.  I would expect it to rust in wet & humid environments.  We have ours on the side of a kitchen cabinet, where it performs admirably.

**Q: Do the pushpins have to be specialized ones that Umbra makes, or could you use, say, generic office pushpins?**
A: They do not work on XL board outside of the the edges. Only about 1.5" away from the edge push pins hold. The rest of my board is hollow of the inside.  Magnets have to be very strong to hold paper. It was very disappointing waiste of money, if we were not in pandemic and it was easy to mail back, I would get rid of it.

**Q: Are the edges finished in a way that it is possible to put two boards side-by-side and still have them look good?  I have a 30 x 44 inch space to fill**
A: I think so, although you would see the "seam".  The edges are a bit rounded, not sharp.  I think it would look fine.  I love this bulleting board.

### ⭐ Umbra Bulletboard - good idea but no wall fixtures.

The basic product design is sound for people who want the combined functions of a magnetic and pin board. The board is supplied with sufficient small (powerful) magnets and pins. However,the problems arise when you attempt to fix it to the wall! The board has small mounting brackets screwed to the back but it does not come with any means of securing the board to the wall or any instruction. Picture hooks are not strong enough or suffiently stable. Over a period or 2 weeks Amazon have failed to resolve the issue - apart from ".....return the item".(I can't find a suitable alternative or I would have) I must have sent at least 4 requests using their internal messaging system. As a last resort I've purchased some mirror fixing brackets from B&Q which have "sort of" fixed the problem. It's far from ideal. The board is at a slight angle and I had to modify/bend one of the brackets to fit underneath the board. MORAL - DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BOARD UNTIL THE FITTING ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED
