Stylish, durable passage door knob โ a smart upgrade for interior doors
I recently installed the Schlage F10 V GEO 716 Georgian passage knob in our home and hereโs how it performed:What I likedโข The aged-bronze finish immediately elevated a plain hallway door โ it matched our West End homeโs classic/modern mix beautifully.โข Installation was simple. The self-aligning screw holes meant I only needed a screwdriver and the job was done in under 15 minutes. ๏ฟผโข Great fit-and-finish: It supports both 2-3/8โณ and 2-3/4โณ backsets and accommodates door thicknesses from 1-3/8โณ to 1-3/4โณ. ๏ฟผโข Built to last: It meets ANSI Grade 2 standards (400,000 cycle requirement) and is backed by a lifetime mechanical + finish warranty for residential use. ๏ฟผโข Versatile: Since itโs a passage knob (non-locking) itโs perfect for closets, laundry rooms, hall doors โ offers function without over-engineering.What to know / minor issuesโข Because itโs non-locking (passage function), it wonโt work for bedrooms or bathrooms where privacy locks are needed โ youโll need the โprivacyโ version instead.โข If your home has extremely thick doors (over 1-3/4โณ), you may require an extension kit (not included).โข The style is Georgian/Traditional โ if your dรฉcor is ultra-modern/minimal you might prefer a more streamlined lever instead of a knob.Overall thoughtsThis Schlage knob strikes a fantastic balance of style + durability + value. If youโre looking to replace interior door hardware and want something that looks elevated without breaking the bank, this is a smart choice. It aligns perfectly with the โsmart homeownerโ mindset of upgrading your home, one detail at a time.Would I recommend it? Yes โ especially for hallways, closets, or transitional spaces in homes like ours in Richmond.

Comes apart for easy installation
A good quality brand available on Amazon. Next day delivery was just what I needed to complete my closet door project while installers were onsite. The little pin makes it easy to take the knob apart making it simple to attach the backplate to door without knob being in the way of screwdriver. Lots of colors to choose from allowed me to match all the other doorknobs in my house.

Great knob handles
These are regularly shaped door knobs, not levers or ball handles (mentioned because knob photos don't always demonstrate this). These knobs are generally great with clean and shiny brass, as advertised. Note there are two versions of the handles: (1) The pre-2022 has a press-fit knob that is hard, if not impossible to remove -- you may not need this feature. (2) Newer models have a spring pin allowing the knob to be pulled off to shorten its size, e.g. extra space helps moves in narrow hallways. The newer model was demanded by my space, so I had to buy several additional as older/newer models are intermingled. It's not a big deal if you don't care or don't have limitations, but it also does help to remove the handle to tighten the screws.Every few items, however, seemed to show either minor plating defects or a twisted the base plate that makes it hard to line up screws. It will NOT naturally pull into place! If you get one of these I'd either try to carefully twist the base plate with a smallish screwdriver leveraged against the screw hole or just return it. The plating issues were on portions of a couple knobs and made them look matte, not shiny. What else should you know? The base plate feels very slightly bigger than usual for door handles, which worked out great. The knobs feel a bit bulkier than some others so be ready for the look and feel.I gave the knobs a top score because when they are right, they are perfect.

Great looking door knobs for your home
I purchased this doorknob to replace the one in my bedroom door. It installed easily, it looks great and it works wonderfully. Will buy more to retrofit more in my house.

Nice knobs
Our house was built over 20 years ago and the door fixtures were starting to show their age. The original knobs were Kwikset and over the years they developed a lot of play in the knob. I was also looking to get away from the polished brass and go with something a little more subdued. I decided to go with Schlage since we did have a couple of Schlage knobs in our basement remodel and they seemed better built than the Kwikset knobs on the rest of the house. The knobs are a lot more solid than the Kwikset knobs. I even weighed them to compare and the 23 year old Kwikset knob was around 9 ounces, and the Schlage knob was over 12 ounces. However, I did end up replacing the basement knobs (so the finish would match), and the 8-year old Schlage knobs were over 14 ounces. The weight definitely make the knob feel much more solid in hand and the turn is also solid. The antique brass finish looks great, but it feels almost like a plastic coating on the knob. We'll see how well that will hold up over the years.I do have a couple of minor gripes that kept this from a 5 star rating. The strike plate that attaches to the jamb were slightly different than the old Kwikset strike plates. The Kwikset strike plates had a bigger opening and were more forgiving to where the latch would line up when it's shut. Most of our doors were mating up at the extreme bottom of the strike plate. So now with a new smaller strike plate this was causing a problem with a lot of our doors latching properly. Some doors I could make some adjustments to the hinges to make sure they were cinched up as far as possible. That worked for some doors. Other doors, I had to break out the Dremel and shave out a little bit on the strike plate to make a bigger opening. I figured this was better than moving the strike plate down which would then leave a noticeable gap on the jamb. All the doors close properly now, but it's also the dead of winter with very low humidity in the house. I may need to make more adjustments when summer humidity returns which can affect the wooden doors and how they're hung.My other (minor) gripe is the latch plate. The old Kwikset latch plate was rectangular and the new Schlage latch plate has rounded corners. It isn't a huge issue, but I now have an unsightly gap in each corner. I'm going to try some wood putty to see if I can cover it up, but I just wished that is was standardized so I wouldn't have to go through the trouble.Overall, I like the knobs. Even with adjusting the hinges and the strike plate modification the installation went quick. I installed 16 knobs in an afternoon. They are a lot more solid than the old knobs, and the finish is a lot better than what we originally had.One other note, I found the knobs for sale at about the same price at our chain big box stores in plastic blister packs. Amazon / Schlage ships these knobs in compact cardboard boxes which I liked better than dealing with all those plastic packs.

I recommend Schlage products. This was installed in a door at our new home. It is study & a better quality than other leading brands & aesthetically pleasing. I went to our local big box store & compared the Schlage products to similar competitor items that were on display.. The fact that Schlage products are manufactured in the USA is a definite bonus!!!Thank you Schlage for providing a quality product & being a USA manufacturing company!

great value for money
for the price you can't go wrong, good product, easy installation. Only small concern is the knob is dark brown not sure why it doesn't match the rest of the handle.
