Are the handles sturdy? How do they feel when the unit is on?

The handles are very sturdy, even when the unit is full of hot food. No movement or wiggling. Overall, I'm enjoying my new unit. It works exactly like my old crock pot but looks great! People always comment on it! I use my slow cooker weekly and its holding up very well!
