These even work for full size delivery trucks!
I am floored with what just happened. My street (in Massachusetts) was poorly plowed due to the most recent storm. A full-sized FedEx truck was just stuck on the street. I ran out, grabbed these from my trunk, and handed him these to see if they'd work... 2 tries!! All it took was 2 tries, and the truck was unstuck... AND they didn't break under the weight of the truck. Unreal. I'm glad I bought these... Can't recommend them enough!

Proper Application to the proper task is the key.
I just got these in the mail and have not used them. That said, after looking at them, they appear robust enough if used properly. They appear to be useful for situations in which the tire is in the midst of somewhat deep loose material such as mud, gravel, sand, snow, slush, or a combination. If you are simply spinning tires because you are on sloped icy pavement, they do not appear to work in that application being that they are a hard, kinda waxy, plastic. I can envision the wheel shooting them out from underneath in that application. Again, the construction material is a rather slick plastic, but as can be seen from the photos, there are wedges molded into the plastic, that when properly oriented, should dig into both the tire tread and the thick material under the tire(i.e. sand, gravel, mud, snow, slush, etc.) that the vehicle is stuck in. Needless to say, common sense (which seems less common these days) dictates that no one should be standing in line with the spinning wheel in any application, just in case the spinning wheel does spit them out. In addition to carrying these traction aids, we will carry a folding shovel which I believe is important to use in conjunction with traction strips. When stuck, usually you will be trying to get out of a hole dug by the spinning wheel when it got stuck. It is important to dig out the material on the side of all 4 wheels in the direction which you plan on moving before laying down the traction strips. The best you can hope for is rolling the wheels up a slight slope, not totally climbing out of a hole. Lastly, the so-called english instructions are largely incoherent and were obviously written by someone who thinks they no english, but doesn't. That said, this is not rocket science and the application of logic and common sense will enable the user to determine the proper way to use these. In conclusion, IMHO, they appear capable enough to get a vehicle unstuck when properly employed.

Probably Works, but Low Effort Design
Purchased these after a snowstorm, and we haven't had much snow since. It probably works but I have not had a chance to try them. Reason for 3 stars: instructions say the mats have a definite top and bottom, which puts one side on the snow and the other against the tire. But the "Top Side" marking on the mats is a very poor debossed lettering in the same color plastic that's almost invisible. I filled the lettering in with a sharpie so I'm not fumbling in the snow when I need them (see pictures). Materials & design seem rugged enough for normal use.

and they worked great. A neighbor's car got stuck on the hill ...
We bought these last winter but didn't need to use them then. They were needed a couple of days ago, and they worked great. A neighbor's car got stuck on the hill trying to turn into a driveway. Someone tried to tow the vehicle but couldn't get traction. Then I brought these out, and we placed them right in front of the front tires. With a few of us pushing the vehicle, the tires got traction and the car was able to get into the driveway. We had a pair that were similar to these a few years ago but gray and shorter. They worked too, but they suddenly disappeared after we helped another neighbor who was stuck. I decided then that the next set (these ones) needed to be a bright color so that I could keep an eye on them better. They can't get lost in the snow, and people can't walk away with them as easily. I also like that they're foldable. That makes it easier to store them in the back of the car in the winter.

No traction, no very effective.
I thought I was going to have to inch my way out of the mud as they got me out of one spot, only to stay stuck two feet back. Now the mats are stuck half-way under the tires and my tires are spinning over them. The first time they flew out from under the tires and could have damaged something or hurt someone. They seem sturdy, but flimsy and breakable at the same time. I wish I could say they are good for minimal situations, but they couldn't even help my truck back up and out of a down-hill gravity situation over Florida grass.

Gripped the Snow, Not the Tires
After having these in my trunk for several years, I attempted to use these to help a friend get unstuck after sliding into a ditch during a snow storm. We got them placed under the tires and they gripped the snow/mud under the tires and so stayed in place just fine. However, the tires could simply not get traction on them and after several attempts, the spinning tires simply melted them. The tires still had reasonable tread and should have been able to grip them without issue. After getting my friend unstuck using other means, we examined these and they are destroyed. The ridges/nubs/whatever that are supposed to provide traction are either broken off or melted smooth, rendering them worthless. They're better than nothing, but not by much and certainly not worth the price.

Compact, grippy, and site-ready—WawaAuto traction pads get you moving when wheels won’t.
🚗 WawaAuto Tire Traction Pad – Full Review This kit includes two foldable traction mats, each measuring 55.9 × 17.8 × 1.1 cm, made from durable plastic with a hexagonal honeycomb surface that boosts grip and friction. They’re designed to help unstick your vehicle from snow, ice, mud, or sand, and rated to support up to 3.5 tonnes—ideal for cars, vans, and light trucks. The mats are lightweight (2 lbs total) and easy to stash in your boot or gear bag. They feature an adjustable angle to suit different terrain slopes and tire positions, and can be used individually or as a pair depending on the situation. ✅ Pros Foldable and compact—easy to store and carry 3.5T load rating—suitable for most vehicles Hexagonal grip pattern—increases traction on slippery surfaces All-weather use—snow, mud, sand, or ice No power or setup—just slide and go Affordable—around £17.16 on Amazon ❌ Cons Plastic build—not ideal for extreme off-road torque No carry bag included—loose mats may rattle in boot Best for light to moderate stuck scenarios—not deep bogs Can slide if not properly wedged—requires careful placement 🧠Personal Verdict This kit’s proper value for emergency prep, winter driving, or site van backup. I’ve seen it used for quick traction boosts on icy driveways, muddy fields, and gravel shoulders, and it holds up—simple, effective, and no faff. For under £20, it’s a smart grab for anyone who wants peace of mind without overpacking.
