Five star review. Thanks to this small business my car bumper and lots of other car owners vehicles are fixed now with this great kit. It's trustworthy and the results are real all at a great price. The plastic welding kit comes in a cardboard box and has all the things to do the job making it simple. Nice clear instructions, plenty of plastic pieces, 20 will be enough for a long time and could always order extra if needed. The aluminum tape was the most impressive, its of high quality material and didn't even burn or have a mark in it. Kit has mesh and a metal holder for the tool to lay on for cooling or idle. Two brass tips and a wire brush for cleaning that afterwards, looks good as new. The tool itself has a generous enough cord length, two prongs and a green light when on. Takes a few minutes to warm up and no problems at all using the tool. Very very reliable and the grip is good and super easy to use. Safety tips, use it outdoors or ventilated area because when in contact with heat and plastic it creates a candle like smoke and odor naturally and continues to smoke when you're moving the tool around plastic. Did a repair first and then went back and smoothed everything out and painted over it in matching color and can't tell it's been repaired. Job well done Jounjip has my gratitude and it's a certified product so there is peace of mind.

Works for hot welding plastic to repair kayak holes. Easy to use and heats up fast. Melted plastic rods over the holes and it bonded it together. The kit also comes with a wire mesh that i feel like helped hold everything together.

As others have mentioned, the 'foot' on this is made of soft metal and will bend very easily. I anticipated this when I started using the tool and was careful not to apply too much pressure. Even so, after about 15 minutes of use, the foot was noticeably bent. Another review had mentioned drilling a hole down the shaft and inserting a drill bit to stiffen the foot. This worked for me. I didn't solder the bit in place but rather just cut it so it sticks out slightly from the top of the shaft. That way, when the shaft is inserted into the recess in the end of the tool handle, the bit is captured and can't go anywhere. A 5/64 bit seems to be about the right size for this. I used it a fair bit after inserting the drill bit with no sign of bending. I think this is a permanent fix. I'm giving it 4 stars because I anticipated I might have to make this fix. I looked around for higher quality tools that wouldn't require the fix and found them to be priced at least twice what this one. The rest of the tool seems to be good quality and there's a decent supply of plasting welding material supplied. If you're willing to put in a bit of work and sacrifice a drill bit to fix the foot, this would make a useful tool for a modest price. Without the drill bit fix, I don't think I would get much use out of it before the foot broke off or became so bent that it's hard to use.

I purchased a different plastic welder kit 2 years ago and used it twice on the same repair - the first two attempts didn’t work. On the third attempt, the welder stopped working. I took it apart and found the cheap wires and connections had failed. As I looked for a replacement, many of the welder kits used the same welder with the kit - this one is different. This welder weighs 2x as much as my previous purchase and worked fantastic. My first two attempts failed as I suspect I used the wrong type of plastic when welding. To ensure I had the right material, I cut material off the kayak (Hobbie) around an access/storage compartment and it welded perfectly. Welding with the correct material is vital. This welder is definitely of higher quality than my previous purchase.

Works fantastic! Saved me $300. Had to repair a bumper cover that had torn all the clips off. This kit worked great!

I used this for the first time today and I was surprised at the strength of the repair. This works much better than the hot staples I'd used on previous repairs. However, the brass tip on my welder became very soft as I was using it. The brass tip is threaded, and screws into the handle where heat is applied. The threads became so soft that the shaft with the threads began to elongate slightly. I'd screwed the tip into the welder until there was no gap between the two, but as I used it, a gap began to form on one side of the tip. I then noticed it was angled slightly. So, I used the welder to apply pressure from the opposite side to bend the tip back into alignment. This happened a couple of times over the ten minutes I used it. Then, the tip suddenly and completely broke off, leaving the threaded shaft inside the welder. This welder is so effective and useful that I plan to purchase a replacement. I'm not happy with the durability of the brass tips, but otherwise it does what it's supposed to do.

Bought this several months ago to repair a bumper that had been ripped off and had been reattached with zip ties before we purchased.🥴 Finally got around to taking off the bumper and using this to repair the places where it was either cracked or completely ripped out. It was easy to use from the start. The added mesh gives me more confidence in the repair. The new joints feel strong and should hold nicely once I get new clips to replace the 17 year old deteriorating plastic.

Lo utilizo en la reparación de plástico y funciona muy bien. Si tuviera un regulador de temperatura estaría genial.

Worked perfectly as described

Not hoping for any awards for my work. But for a first time user. The welder kit worked as advertised. And I think I just might get another season outta the old girl (my garbage can) before I need to replace her. Things I learned: Take more time shaping the mesh to the surface. You can see on the right side with the ridges - really looks like a dogs breakfast. I was fighting with the mesh a lot there. Left side, I did in small sections at a time. With more attention to cutting and shaping to the contours with the mesh. Easy recommendation.

I had a lot of hope for this tool in order to repair a broken car bumper. At my first use at puting a patch in place it broke in two, and note that I was’nt applying much pressure. At a closer look the welds seem to be inadequate explaining why it broke so easily. I hope I will be able to get a replacement unit. Update I called the number on the box, a guy in California answered and told me that he will send a replacement unit. I cross my fingers and hope to receive it soon. 'Follow up - July 8th I am now a happy camper cause I just receive a the remplacement unit. So bravo for the service!
