Has more precise tuning, and advanced features! Power saving feature: tuner display will dim after 5 seconds of no sound detected. This conserve battery power. It can be used in practice or live giging situations. Other features: tap tempo metronome, pitch calibration, and a transpose feature for tuning guitars with capo. Internal vibration sensor detects notes by clipping on directly to instrument. The Snark only weighs 1.5 ounces with a very expertly made clamp with rubber gripping jaws. The lower jaw hinges allowing it to fit any contour. Snark tuners will clip on and stay to even Ovation with the angled head stock. Also has ball socket on each end of the curved mounting post that connects the clamp to the face. Allows 360 degress maneuvering making the Snark perfectly adjustable for most any situation.Comes complete with a CR2032 Lithium 3 volt battery. This is the same kind that many computers use for the clock battery. Battery is held in a simple pull out draw behind tuner face. It’s best to tune-up on stage just before you play because the temperature on stage will be a little different than other places in the building. A clip on tuner is fast and you can put the Snark in your pocket as soon as you’re done or leave it on instrument. People will even ask you where they can get one because they are so impressive being so small, convenient, and quick to use. Tuning is easy. To go from one note to the next is very fast, almost instant so it takes less time to tune up. Snark has the transpose feature for perfect tuning with capo in place.

Review: Great deal in a 2-pack - love it for my ukuleles - Bought a pack of two of these Snark SN-8 Super Tight tuners for my Ukuleles. I have multiple ukes and needed a simple tuner to clip on the headstock and pack in the case. This tuner does a great job of helping me find the sweet spot on each string. The display is bright and it just works. I like the included metronome too. But my favorite is the transpose tuning feature which can be adjusted to whatever fret I have my capo on. That is a very neat feature. The other great thing that makes this such a nice and easy tuner is that a simple click of the yellow button gets the unit on and the unit turns off too with a simple push. No having to hold any buttons or wait long for a display to warm up. It just works. I wouldn't hesitate to get more of these as needed. The clip works and for now, I have one on my Firefly soprano Banjolele and my KoAloha Concert uke. Very happy with them.
Review: Great tuner - read on if the reports of breakage have scared you! - This is the best, most accurate, easiest tuner I have ever used. I own over a dozen instruments & have bought almost that many Snarks so they can "live" on the different headstocks. I own the 8, the 1, & a couple others I can't recall. They are AWESOME! They work on my acoustics, electrics, basses, banjo, mandolin, and even my lap steel (although I have to clip it on the volume knob) In almost 25 years of playing I have never found a better tuner. But, the ball & socket can break. I have had 2 break that way and yes, it is annoying. You may ask why is this still a 5 star review? Because a drop of superglue solves the issue. Sure, the 2 that broke don't swivel anymore, but so what? I simply angled the face in the appropriate direction before the glue set. Sure, Snark could build these things out of metal - and charge $40 each, or they could make them inexpensive, easy to repair, and super-easy to use. I kinda like the price I paid for mine. I can't see how people can pay $10-$15 for a tuner and be surprised that they can break. So, to the really angry guy that wrote how these things are now "worthless junk"... I'll pay you $2 each for your broken ones and be using them 5 minutes after I get them in the mail!!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: i want to hear from violin players. Is it reliable?**
A: Yes it's reliable and attaches to the scroll very well. The problem with all Snarks (I own about half a dozen for various instruments) is that the little stalk swivel system is fragile. There is a stalk with a ball on each end, inserting into a socket on the back of the tuner and on the top of the attachment clip. Either one of these sockets have little plastic tabs that can be broken pretty easily if you are rough with them.Of the two socket joints, and the one on the back of the tuner itself is the one that tends to break easiest. Aside from that, the tuner will read chords if your double-stops are accurate, and reads fast enough to check your intonation while playing, at least on slower tunes.

**Q: What is the difference between the SN-8 and SN-2 tuner?**
A: sn-1 guitar & bass , sn-2 all instrument , sn-5 guitar bass & viloin , sn -6 ukelele tuner , sn - 8 all instrument tuner with tighter grip

**Q: is sn-8 or sn-2 better?**
A: The SN-8 is supposed to be brighter, easier to read and faster. I don't know if that's true or not. I bought it for my 13 year old son, a beginner guitar player and he was able to tune his guitar with no problem, so it easily met his needs. Snark brand was recommended by his teacher. I actually looked at the SN-2 but, at the time is wasn't available through Prime and the SN-8 was, so I bought it.

**Q: does this tune a trombone**
A: I agree with the other answers. I am a stringed-instrument player (violin, mandolin, octave mandolin, banjo) and the snark works on all of these. Since it operates by detecting vibrations, anywhere that you can clip it on to the instrument where you can see it while you tune should work just fine. On a trombone I would think that the lip of the bell would be a good location.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Must buy for musicians!
*by D***M on June 11, 2020*

This is a great, really helpful product that I would definitely recommend to anyone who plays an instrument. It's simple, easy to read, and pretty accurate as far as tuners go, so I'm really happy with it. It'll tell you when you're sharp, flat, or just right with different colors, so that's definitely a positive. Also, it can really be attached to a lot of different instruments or just to a music stand as you play, making it very convenient to use. I also love how the head can turn so you can put it at whatever angle you need it to. You just have to remember to turn it off after you're done using it or else the battery will die pretty quickly. Aside from that, the tuner is great for beginners and can really help with getting the right notes during tuning or practice!
