The description doesn't say anything about sun blocking. But I figure they must do something to help reduce the sun exposure on the tops of my hands.After several rides they seem to be holding up well. Also, they don't seem to have much thermal value, but I haven't really tried them in cold weather. I don't view them as cold weather gloves. With weather in the 60's, but sunny, my hands felt neither hot nor cold - just comfortable.I'm an average size man with small-ish hands and thin fingers. The Large fit well, and really couldn't be any tighter. I usually get blisters on my hands and the backs of my hands get sunburnt, so I was hoping these would solve both issues and I was planning on throwing them away after the trip. We averaged almost 12 miles paddling/day and these gloves showed almost no wear at all!!!! I never got sunburn on the backs of my hands either! They were also great for holding onto the fish while filleting, so they did smell after a few days, but I handwashed them when I got home, dried them out, and put them away for the next trip.
