Designed with emerging readers in mind, each of the tales is told in short rhyming dialogues—with each character's lines indicated by a different color—to be used as a script for two voices to read separately and together. Using traditional reading teaching techniques like alliteration, rhyme, repetition, and short sentences, the text invites young children to read along, while Michael Emberley's lively illustrations enhance the stories' humor and high spirits. Goldilocks, the Little Red Hen, the Three Little Pigs, and many more beloved characters star in these tales-with-a-twist that are perfect for early and reluctant readers, readers' theater, and bedtime fun. A 2005 Notable Children's Book in the Language Arts by the Children's Literature Assembly of the National Council of Teacher of English. Also chosen as a 2004 Gryphon Award Honor Book by the Center for Children's Books. Review: Great book! Beginner readers may need help. - I love the idea of books I can read "with" my daughter. She is shy about reading aloud, but enjoys reading with me. This book gave us cute, familiar stories and rhymes to enjoy together. I am looking forward to purchasing more of the "You Read to Me, I'll Read to You" books in the near future. I wouldn't recommend for beginner readers, some words can be difficult without help (ogre, naughty, jealous). I just help my daughter along, and it has many of her Kindergarten sight words in it. Review: Best book I've ever gotten for reading instruction - This book is just wonderful. So nice that I immediately searched for all the books in the series. Just wonderful for helping my granddaughter read. She loves the back and forth of the reading - so much nicer than having her read to me (or me reading to her). She just finished first grade, so I'm trying to reinforce what she's learned. I don't want her to slide back. We both love reading 2 or 3 of these stories a day (why I needed all the books in the series). When my sons were little I’d read both parts and then eventually they read both parts to me. This week I began reading them to grandchildren. ## Frequently Bought Together - Very Short Fairy Tales to Read Together: Very Short Fairy Tales to Read Together (You Read to Me, I'll Read to You, 2) - Very Short Stories to Read Together (You Read to Me, I'll Read to You, 1) - Very Short Fables to Read Together (You Read to Me, I'll Read to You, 5) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sn/products/12527768-yrtmirty-very-short-fairy-tales-to-read-together](https://www.desertcart.sn/products/12527768-yrtmirty-very-short-fairy-tales-to-read-together) --- *Product available on Desertcart Senegal* *Store origin: SN* *Last updated: 2026-11-08*
