Looks great and works!
I read many reviews about JLH products and others, before buying one setup for our Master Bedroom Closet.Summary:- Excellent detailed instructions- Flexible combinations, but I picked the default- Looks great- Very solid and rigid feel, once all pieces are mounted.- The hardware supplied is OK, but you can strip the phillips heads if using power-tools- The supplied drywall anchors aren't the best, I used E-Z Ancor 50lbs metal anchors instead- When adding drawers, there will be a small gap between the drawer and the shelf above it.- Wood is a little on the soft side, so be careful with your screwdriver. Works fine for cloths, but not for heavy equipment. Our old closet interior was falling apart - it could not handle the weight of all the clothes that were stuffed in there. After tearing that out, the walls needed repair and paint. With the walls remade, it pained me a bit to drill holes for 52 anchors. Well a few a could line up in studs an not need anchors.Suggestions:1. You will need to cut the hanger-bar to fit. A dremel works for that.2. You will need to cut the long shelves for fit. You want that to be straight and a good saw and support makes this easier.3. A longer and shorter level tool is needed to help you mark horizontal and vertical lines.4. Don't draw on your walls - put blue painters-tape where you want to make marks and drill.5. When securing the tower to the upper shelf, I could not get the slats to line up for the inner tower side. I then took a dremel and cut the part that hangs over the slat-end and made it flat - then it worked fine.6. You will need an extra set of hands for two things: - when mounting the first top shelf, and need to keep it leveled and mark the side-wall support mount point. - when fitting in the towerI just installed my second set and will probably use the same in other closets.

Beautiful closet system that gets all your clothing organized.
This is the second home I’ve installed this product in because it is so functional. It took me an entire day to install because I had to cut to size. They have a video you need to watch as the written instructions are difficult to understand. Once again I’m thrilled with the final product and highly recommend

pretty impressive for DIY
I bought and installed two complete sets. With the exception of the glass doors, instructions and installation were reasonable. I'll frame my review around comments in other reviews. The material is solid wood, but not hard wood. It's just stained mahogany. Real mahogany would be much more expensive. The wood is sturdy and the benefit of it being softer is that you don't need to predrill for the screws. However, I agree that hard wood would have been nice. The set does require more comfort with tools than a normal DIY kit. You need to use a saw and place screws without the aid of predrilled holes or markings. If this concerns you, you might want to hire someone, but it doesn't need to be a carpenter. A general handyman should be able to install one kit in under 4 hours. In hindsight, I would skip the glass doors. These were very hard to install squarely. The hinges they provided weren't the same as the hinges in the instruction! They sag slightly which makes the doors a little uneven and they don't adjust enough to help you align them. One final tip: install the basic set before you buy extra shelves. Depending on your closet's size you may be able to create a couple extra shelves from the scrap created by the main shelves. The manufacturer is nice enough to include the hardware that allows you to do this.

Closets are reasonable Parts are EXCESSIVE COST!
Purchased (2) of the Premier version of this system which comes with 12 inch towers to do a 15ft by 7 ft walk in closet. After designing for the most efficient utilization of space, found I had to add two more 16" towers and (4) 2 pack shelves for the back wall and to get my shoes into the tower.I switched the 16 inch towers to one side of the room and place the 12 inch towers (for shoes) on the reverse side of the room. That alone cost another $500. Can you believe that the shelf system 2 pack does NOT come with the pins to attach to the towers? Even though you spend $60 for 4 ft of pre-cut russian pine shelf kit. These bozo's have priced out that you must be nickled & dimed for every shelf pin, bracket or metal attachment at around $ 1.00 a piece when you buy it from one of their dealers. The company itself doesn't sell it in bulk and their dealers are up on Ebay with ads trying to hawk a 4 pack for 4.00 + 8.00Shipping & handling for a total cost of $12 for four shelf brackets. What a rip off! After you have spent over $1,000 in 2 closet systems and shelf parts it should at least come with the required shelf pins & brackets.Plus you can't even get these parts online at Home Depot or Target online.. you are forced back through the John Louis dealer system for these parts. With the economy the way it is I have seen 2 dealers who have gone out of business in my state so I am forced to shop OUT of state & incur a delivery charge for these parts. Not happy.

Closet organiser
I purchased 3 of these and the 1st one opened had a broken shelf. Called manufacturers customer service and response was great. I had a replacement in a couple of days. I am pretty handy and thought I could just quickly read the instructions get on and build the units. Wrong, as I had a couple of false starts. Eventually at the end of the day I had it built. For the next two I read the instructions and everything went real good. I am very pleased with the look and quality of the units and definitly recommend this product and the manufacturers support if things are not quiet right.JT - purchased April 2012
