The taste is unique as some won't like, but my opinion is that they are the best hot pickles than any other brand I've tasted and I have tasted a lot of brands. I wish Van Holten still sold Little Pepe variety .... not sure of spelling, but I would mix the two varieties. Anyway I also drink the ramping juice from the Hot Mama so nothing is wasted.
