Fixed idle and random flashing CEL
I want to start the vehicle and it takes longer to crank than it normally used to but it still would start. The vehicle ran fine but I noticed certain times the cel light would flash while driving I look for vacuum leaks and everything else but I couldn't figure out what was going on. I pulled the vacuum hose off this and notice there was fuel in it so therefore the diaphragm must have failed and had been sucking fuel in through the fuel rail through the diaphragm. Vehicle always had a bit of a goofy idol but never any thing to cause alarm after putting plugs and wires on it still had that odd idle but vehicle ran fine. Once I changed this whole new vehicle. Did idle super smooth it instantly starts up no more flashing cel which means I was running very rich which can ruin your catalytic converters. I also ordered the vacuum line going to it. Do not order the cheap $7 lines. Order the gm1 or the dorman one which is about 20 bucks. They are extremely well made and formed correctly. Plus this is a GM part little better quality even though it's probably made in China anyway. It works great

Perfect fit for 2000 Suburban 1500 TL 5.3l--But vibrates and makes loud noise
Fits and works great! Highly recommended for 2000 Suburban 1500 TL 5.3l. UPDATE: DOES NOT work and NOT recommended!!! Well I speak too soon! After driving around for less than 50 miles, the classic symptoms, which include vibration and loud noise produce by the regulator start to show up. These symptoms got worse to a point that I have to stop driving the SUV. At first I thought it may have been a defective unit, hence I ordered another one to replace. But surprisingly, the replacement unit behaves exactly the same way. Reinstalled the original regulator eliminates the noise and vibration.

Resolved my issue in 10 minutes for less than $65!!!
Bought this for my 2003 Tahoe with a 5.3 engine. Had a problem with hard starts on cold mornings where at times my truck would stall on the road. Took like 10 minutes to replace and install. Look up Youtube for instructions on how to install fuel pressure regulator for 2003 Tahoe. All you need is a flat head screwdriver and a pick to remove the very small plastic "O" ring. Issue is now gone and the truck idles normal now.

Worthless. buy duct tape instead of this
This is a POS bought this about 5 months ago and the pressure regulator itself is failing every time I'm at an idol I'll hear my truck burp Yes you heard that right burp I thought it was my return line but on further inspection when I removed the pressure line to the fuel pressure regulator the burping went away on further inspection internally it has broken. If I were you I would rather you use duct tape then this POS

works like it should
I ought this for a 2000 silverado 5.3, random misfire code. Spark is good, fuel pressure was nearly where it needed to be. no vacuum leak, other than the the faulty fuel pressure regulator. bought this one, and bata boom check engine light is gone. fuel pressure now normal. I read that others had a noise problem, just wondering if they forgot the tiny o ring or the old one was stuck inside? no noise here! happy as a clam!!

OEM Parts - Keep your GM Truck all GM
Original GM/AC Delco part - not an AC Delco jobber part but an OEM GM Part - hardest part of install was removing old screen and o-ring from inside of fuel rail - Have a dental pick handy and flashlight to make sure you see the part and get the o-ring removed otherwise when you go to install the new part it will not fit into the housing correctly. Match each part up individually to make sure you have removed all pieces of the old regulator before installing new regulator. The c-clip, you may or may not need to use it (depends on if you had an old one to take off)-most likely you just have the silver spring metal retainer that also comes with the new regulator. SO FAR SO GOOD - no more hard starting after sitting and fuel economy has increased.

perfect fit
My 03 Silverado (5.3) would shudder and run rough when started then smooth out in a few seconds. No codes or engine light, and run great the rest of the time. Replacing the fuel pressure regulator fixed this problem.

Some installation tips and noisy FPR...
My vehicle is a 2000 GMC Sierra 4.8L. When I removed the old regulator, I found that the round screen and O-ring stayed in the fuel rail - it is a snug fit. There isn't much to grab onto, but pull them out with some small needle nose pliers or a hooked probe - be careful not to scratch the fuel rail metal surfaces. When installing the new part, place the O-ring into the depression first, then place the round filter over that - the filter is sided so keep it matched up so the FPR will fit in. The push in the FPR. A tiny bit of motor oil on the surfaces helps things slide into place. One other note: There is an odd-ball GM/Chevy problem where (sometimes) the particular FPR can cause the fuel line to buzz - usually in the AM when the engine is cold. I recently had the fuel pump replaced and the new pump (probably because of better pressure) caused the old FPR to start buzzing. I tried this part and it seems to have fixed the buzzing problem. However, I've read comments in repair forums that an FPR that fixes this for one person may not fix it for another - hmmm. For more info on this use search terms such as GM/Chevy noisy fuel pressure regulator - there are several forums I ran across that discuss this issue. Good luck.
