Crystal Clear Protection
I've been knee-deep in a backyard makeover—painting old metal planters, sealing some wooden birdhouses, and sprucing up plastic garden stakes—and nothing seals the deal like a reliable clear coat. That's where the Krylon K05562007 COLORmaxx Acrylic Clear Finish (Satin Crystal Clear, 11 oz) comes in. Grabbed it for about $7 at the hardware store (often $8-10 online), and it's become my go-to for that final protective touch. If you're tackling DIY projects that need to withstand the elements without losing their shine, this satin spray delivers pro-level results on a budget. Five stars—it's tough, versatile, and hassle-free. What I Loved Most Flawless, Non-Yellowing Protection: This stuff goes on smooth as silk, creating a durable, satin finish that locks in your paint job and guards against UV rays, moisture, and scratches. I coated my freshly painted planters, and after a month of sun and rain, they look brand new—no fading or discoloration. It's non-yellowing, so your colors stay vibrant, whether indoors on craft projects or outdoors on furniture. Easy Application and Quick Dry: The "spray any way" valve lets you hit tricky angles without drips or runs, and the big-button tip makes it a breeze to control. Dries to the touch in under 20 minutes and fully handleable in an hour—perfect for when you're juggling multiple pieces. One can covered about 18 sq ft for me, with even coverage that doesn't leave brush marks (because, duh, it's spray!). Indoor/Outdoor All-Star: Works like a charm on wood, metal, plastic, glass, and more—I've used it on everything from kitchen cabinets to patio decor. Low odor means no headaches during indoor jobs, and it's rust-resistant for metal pieces. Plus, the crystal-clear satin sheen adds a subtle elegance without being glossy-overkill. Any Downsides? In high humidity (above 60%), it can take a smidge longer to cure perfectly, so I learned to check the weather for outdoor sprays. And like any aerosol, shake it well—otherwise, you might get uneven spots. But honestly, these are minor; it's way more forgiving than other clear coats I've tried. Bottom Line The Krylon COLORmaxx Clear Finish isn't just a topper—it's the unsung hero that makes your projects last longer and look sharper. For crafters, homeowners, or anyone fighting the elements, it's an essential at this price point. I've already stocked up for my next round of holiday crafts. If you want protection that doesn't compromise the beauty, spray this on—you won't be disappointed! (Pro tip: Apply in thin layers (2-3 coats) for the smoothest satin vibe—patience pays off with that glass-like depth.)

Beautiful color spray paint
I love this spray paint. The color is excellent and it's very easy to use. It did not clump and worked perfectly for me. The first coat was very nice but the second coat really nails it. Every spray paint I've had takes two or more coats. This one covered stuff just in one coat but if you do two coats it makes it look even better. I really like krylon spray paint and this color was stunning.

Great quality paint!
I’m very happy with the quality of this paint. I have a metal potted plant holder that hangs on an outside wall with five areas to set pots into. It was my grandmother’s from around the 40’s or 50’s and the turquoise color is almost the exact match! It’s been hanging outside a year now in Pacific Northwest weather and has held up 100%! I will buy the brand again for my next projects!

Excellent paint!
I bought this product to paint a plastic wreath. It shipped quickly and worked wonderfully! I did use the entire can on the wreath. I’ve included before, during and after photos.

Perfect light pink color
Perfect light pink color. Sprayed nicely without drips. A bit pricey for spray paint but served it's purpose

Shoots like the "better" competitor. Good Job Krylon, finally.
Shoots like Rust Oleum paint and primer which is GOOD (Good job Krylon!) with Better angles, consistency and adhesion. Also, I'd like to mention that this Italian Olive is a pretty close COLOR match (if not exact) to their "Satin Avocado - paint only" blend which I had bought prior to this (that stuff shoots lousy like old 80's Krylon, don't bother.) This would be an upgrade to that product and yes, I do recommend.

Good for book binding
Great for book binding. If you want a really nice finish and feel for covers on home made books, you'll definitely want to be looking for some clear coating sprays like this. It sound's counterintuitive to spray liquid on paper, but it works wonderfully. The hardest part is keeping dust away while spraying multiple coats outside. You'll want to use some other clear coat as well but I always start by coating my covers with a couple coats of the UV resistant krylon stuff for both UV protection and just gets the ball rolling for the next few coats. But you can follow that up with other stuff. Just stay away from fixatives and varnishes unless that's somehow what you want. But it can be confusing when browsing all the options so, yknow. Krylon 1311 and its glossy counterpart are good but are quite fine mist and might require more coats to build up the coating you want. That's why I like krylon colormaxx versions to use in the middle coat to build it up since colormaxx has a lot more volume but less fine mist, and then finishing it with the finer mist stuff for quality. Also worth noting you can mix and match finishes if you want to get particular, like layering a gloss under a thin layer of matte to soften it type beat. On a clear sunny day they should dry almost instantly, at least enough to put another coat on. Maybe a bit longer for the thicker ones. For paperbacks I always print and then spray onto 180gsm matte photo paper. You don't need glossy paper to get a glossy finish, it will probably just be harder to deal with and sticky/tacky attracting dirt and such and may be more expensive. I find myself needing 4-6 total coats depending on the desired finish. Sounds like a lot but it's a small surface area and like I said they dry quickly so you can do them fast. I just hold the cover up to the light of the sun to look for imperfections in the sheen and if it's a little splotchy, just do another coat. One last thing, since each individual coat is thinner than most pieces of dust, you can most often pick out the dust after waiting for the previous coat to dry as long as you're vigilant. Presuming it's just the odd spec of dirt. and not a sandstorm anyway. That's about it, hopefully this information is useful to others trying to figure this out.

Excellent product!
This paint was amazing, great coverage, very little smell and easy to use. I had minimal dripping but that was my own fault for over spraying. I highly recommend this product for wood burning projects and other projects. There was no change in the color of the wood either and no yellowing.
