Very heavy duty piece of furniture. It’s heavy and solid. Very attractive in my kitchen. Well worth the price. Easy to put together, but heavy to lift on your own.

This solid wood table is heavy but worth the work to assemble and oil the surface for a beautiful product. It arrived on time and upon removing it from the box the wood table top was perfectly placed - upside down so you could immediately attach the legs. Place the holes on the legs facing inside as that is where the clips go to place the two shelves. The shelves do not permanently attach to the table - they are placed on the clips. We swapped out the wood knobs for stainless steel ones and began oiling the wood. You can buy butcher's block wood oil or plain mineral oil works just fine (@ $2 a bottle it's the better bargain). It takes two adults to turn the table upright or even to move it because of the weight. It is solid. We oiled it each day for about a month; then every other day for a week; then once a week. Eventually you can oil once a month. The color changes and darkens to a "golden oak" color. The top is butcher block quality but I don't actually cut on it - I use a cutting board. We've received many compliments and are very happy with the purchase. One leg had a small crack but it is easy to overlook and doesn't impact the overall usefulness of the table. The two drawers are sturdy and very handy, as are the 3 wood hooks on the side.

What a great piece, we love it. It is really high quality and a very sturdy (heavy) island. We painted the bottom white and just left the trays and the top natural and oiled it. The size is perfect too, not too small but not huge. I looked for a small sturdy island with a butcher block to that was at least 3" thick but I didn't want to spend more than 200.00. Many were just rickety-looking and the nicer ones were ridiculously expensive. This one is just perfect and a great price!

I am very pleased with this purchase. This piece is quality, heavy and solid wood! I read the reviews and everyone spoke of the quality, so I ordered. I appreciate all of the reviews and will add mine to the high quality of this peace. I began painting the legs and base black to match my kitchen, but left the top natural. The stain didn't take well and since it is not a true butcher's block top, I decided to paint the top black as well and like it very much. I sealed the paint and will use a cutting board on top. I do not like the wooden pegs and replaced with more decorative accessories and bought some metal baskets to finish the design. I cannot say enough about the solid quality of this peace, you won't be disappointed.

We purchased this kitchen island and spent quite a bit of time searching review photos on both Amazon and other sites. While the island is very solid and well-made & customer service is excellent (we had a small issue where one corner of the top was damaged in transit and the seller shipped us a new one right away), buyers should be aware that the wood tends to turn very orange when putting even a clear finish on it. We wanted the top of ours to be food-safe for baking and such, so we decided to finish it with Boos Block Mystery Oil, followed by Boos Block Board Cream, both of which do not contain colorants. The finished look is very orange and honestly disappointing. I know that every wood takes to oils and finishes very differently and I'm not sure what else we could have used to ensure a food-safe surface, but I wish I would have known that parawood has a tendency to turn orange once the unfinished wood is oiled, as this is not the look that I was desiring.

This island design worked well for a small to medium kitchen . I would have liked a wider width .

The first one was broken. Amazon took it back and sent another quickly!!! Our second came unharmed. My husband was very impressed with how sturdy it was and easy to assemble. Very happy customer! This will be my sour dough work station!! Yippee
