Perfect
Works exactly as described. I’ve dealt with acne my entire life, I have never come across anything that works as well as this before. You have to use it exactly as instructed: Put it on clean skin for ten minutes, then rinse. That easy. Give it two weeks of doing that every other day and you will see the difference. You have to make sure you are putting your normal face moisturizer on afterwards, and I actually put a Balm on top of that on the areas that I know my skin is more sensitive. I use La Roche Posay Cicaplast as a balm. I have been able to avoid any dry or sensitive skin issues with this combination, and my skin looks incredible. I genuinely don’t find the smell that offensive, it smells just like Nair or burnt hair to me. Not great, but not as bad as many have described. And it is worth the results. I went to the dermatologist four months ago for the 1000th time, asking for something to help with my acne that was returning after accutane and getting off of hormonal birth control. She prescribed me tretinoin and clindamycin, even though I told her that just doesn’t do anything for me. The Tret ends up causing a million tiny whiteheads all over my face eventually, and it’s really frustrating. I am so thankful that I had seen people talking about this product online and decided to try it out. An actual life saver.

Works amazingly for acne—just be aware of the smell!!
I’ve been using the De La Cruz 10% Sulfur Ointment Acne Treatment as a mask treatment, and overall, I really like it. It’s one of those products that actually delivers noticeable results. In terms of effectiveness, it works really well for acne. I’ve seen a clear reduction in breakouts, and it helps calm down active pimples pretty quickly. It also seems to dry out problem areas without completely irritating my skin, which is a big plus. The texture is easy to apply, and I typically use it as a mask and then rinse it off. After using it, my skin feels cleaner and less congested. The only downside—and it’s worth mentioning—is the smell. Since it’s sulfur-based, it does have that “rotten egg” scent, and in my experience, it can linger a bit (sometimes up to a day). It’s not the most pleasant, but honestly, considering how well it works, I think it’s worth it. Overall, if you’re dealing with acne and want something effective and affordable, this is a great option. Just be prepared for the smell—it’s part of what makes it work.

First time an acne product blew me away
This is the first acne related product I've ever used that has legitimately worked. Let me preface: I do not and have not gotten cysts but I have had acne for almost 10 years. Its been bad, itll almost disappear and then itll go in between the two. I have been on medications, I have tried a gazillion routines, serums, washes, toners, creams, moisturizers. I have been a sucker for countless products after reading reviews like this one where others rave how this one product changed their life.. but they just never worked for me. Very rarely does something targeted towards acne end up doing what it says it's supposed to in my experience. Even worse, before it does work, a product can purge your skin?! and then *maybe* gets better. Acne has always been an uphill battle for me. This though, pulls no stops. Does exactly what it says. No purging, no nothing. Visibly more even skintone after one use and it calms down angry new pimples. One time. It doesn't burn or itch or make my skin all irritated and red. Has no evil chemicals in the ingredients either. I am so lucky to be in a really manageable spot with my skin right now, so I can't speak on whether this changed my life or not, but I do know how it feels, and I am also too familiar with the empty promises of most products. I just wanted to write this for any skeptics out there like me. I've been using it as a mask every so often (1-2 a week if I need it) and I'm now attempting to use it as spot treatment. I moisturize after. The only other acne product I use is Pair acne cream which Ill use right after this mask if Im feeling crazy. For the price, ingredients, and other reviews, you literally could not go wrong with this stuff imo

Dries out blemishes and skin around them
This product has the highest OTC sulfur %, so I took care in following the directions: leave on for only 10 minutes. It does have a rotten egg/sulfur smell, but who cares for 10 minutes? It does dry out blemishes, that's for sure. It zapped up regular surface zits in a day or two and it dried out nodules and cysts within a few days. But it also dries out the skin around the blemish, so be careful in using excessively. I suggest using it sparingly, especially if you have dry and/or sensitive skin. Maybe once every 2-3 days. I used it 1x a day for 3 days, and only on active blemishes, saw it was drying out the blemishes, and then upped it to 2x a day for the next few days. My skin started to peel, so I stopped using it. My skin peeled even centimeters away from where I had used it. Because it is so drying, it even dried out the skin where I didn't use it. So that dry skin flaked up, clogged a couple of pores there, and I had new blemishes. Instead of applying more of this stuff, I exfoliated with St. Ive's for a couple of days and moisturized with Cerave and left the blemishes alone. After that experience, I applied it with a toothpick or a q-tip with the fluff taken off so the ointment only sat right on top of the pore that was clogged, and only 1x a day for 2 days. I also added a second layer of moisturizer after the 1st one soaked in. If you have dry/sensitive skin and cysts or nodules, I recommend using this in conjunction with Aztec Healing Clay ( Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay - 2 lbs . First, use the healing clay (mixed with Apple Cider Vinegar) for a few days (1x per day) to bring the deepest clogs closer to the surface, where a topical can even access them. Then, stop using the clay and switch to this ointment to zap what you've brought to the surface. After your rinse off from either of these, moisturize like hell. This is my topical regime that I have added to my search for the nodular / cystic acne cure. Stopping the breakouts altogether meant getting tested for food allergies and hormonal imbalances. I've started to clear up after being prescribed medicine for a hormonal imbalance. I used this stuff to clear up my last breakout and the combo of correcting the inside of my body and the outside of my body meant cysts came and went in 2 days instead of weeks, leaving me now with only scars. 4 stars for doing exactly what the product said it would do; not a full 5 stars because the instructions suggest using it on clear skin to prevent blemishes. -1 star as a preventive measure: I think it would dry out any skin type, causing dead flakes to clog pores, making you want to use it more, trapping you in a dry skin breakout cycle. In short, use sparingly for 10 minutes a day on top of an active blemish.

Great for hormonal acne
This stuff smells VILE but it's worth it! One of the best things I've tried for hormonal acne. You really have to work to get it off though, the scent clings to crevices and dry patches on your face and to baby hairs, so I only use it right before I wash my hair and make sure to really thoroughly wash my face after. But to clear up my face for $6, I can't complain.

When you are ready to end your acne nightmare, buy this !!!
First I will give you some background about me and my acne case. I've been dealing with acne of varying degrees for almost 30 years now. I've had, on my face/chest/back, and continue to have, moderate acne, mild nodular acne, aggressive acne due to prednisone use, and blackheads of all types. I've tried tons of products, both over the counter and prescription including Accutane, minocin, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, Retin-A Micro, Differin, and plenty of others. I've spent thousands of dollars over the years with (besides Accutane which had horrible side effects) no great relief from acne. About 14 months ago, after a health issue, I had to use a prednisone steroid which worsened my acne condition and caused me to seek out something that I've never tried because I was really desperate for help! I came across DeLa Cruz Sulfur Ointment on Amazon and started reading the rave reviews and comments. I figured, what could I lose at this price? Well I have to say this is the VERY BEST acne product that I have EVER used in 30 years! Of course nothing will block ALL acne pimples or blackheads and I have one or two show up on occasion, but with daily use, this product: 1. clears my acne problem 2. quickly heals and exfoliates the skin 3. clears dark marks and scars 200% better than any of those high priced "dark spot correctors" 4. does not excessively over dry the skin 5. does not stain bedding or clothing. Pretty miraculous!! Also, this product is NOT sticky at all. I'd say it has the consistency of thin Vaseline mixed with a very fine grained sand. It adds no oiliness to your skin though, and washes completely clean with water. Whatever is left over in the skin is doing its job to clear your acne problem. My regimen: I have been using this product for around 14 months. When I first began to use this I spread a very light coating of it all over my face and neck area for 15-20 minutes at night and again in the morning, washing it off with just warm water. For the first 5-10 days I used it, my skin would feel warm/irritated/itchy before rinsing it off. Your skin will build a tolerance for the product over time so it's important to be patient, stick with it, start slow, and work your way up to leaving it on for longer periods. That irritating feeling has gone away completely for me, and I'm able to leave it on without any irritation now. After using it twice daily for about 3 months, I began to only use it once daily in the morning for 15-30 minutes, with the same great effects. After rinsing it off I use a daily face moisturizer to avoid excess dryness (Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle sensitive skin crème). The sulfur ointment can be applied directly to existing pimples to treat them and quickly dry them up. It can also be mixed with moisturizer easily (in an amount about 4:1 moisturizer to sulfur ointment), to use on the face or areas all day. My experience has been, if it's used daily it will work wonderfully. At this point I am able to use it overnight at full strength on any existing pimples with no redness or irritation to my skin. In my experience, this product will dry existing pimples, bring underlying pimples to a head, stop pimple production, help exfoliate the skin, lighten dark marks and scars, and make the skin clear and evenly toned. I have noticed this comes in a scented variation also. Both the scented and non-scented have worked exactly the same. The scent has not bothered my skin at all. My advice would be, start slow, test your boundaries, use daily, moisturize, DO NOT get it near your eyes, and tell your friends and family. This product is not available anywhere in stores in my area. No one I know has ever heard of this product. In my opinion it should be on shelves in every store selling skin care products (in the actual acne section and not in the "ethnic" section which makes no sense at all).

Didn't clear my skin- here's what did.
This ointment helped a little bit with those nasty under the skin hormonal lumps, but it wasn't enough for me to keep buying or enduring the smell! I would recommend trying the below products first! As someone dealing with adult acne for the last two years, I was desperate for something to help my skin! I've tried countless creams, serums, peels, masks, washes, sprays, essential oils, etc until my wallet cried.. and NONE of them helped! My skin was horrible, inflamed, utterly embarrassing as a working adult, and painful to boot. (The kicker was many days it hurt to smile! If you've been there you know how discouraging this is!) My skin was so terrible a coworker anonymously left proactive on my desk at work (the turd!!). After countless wasted dollars and months of frustration I've FINALLY got my skin under control and milk thistle was a huge part of that. I'm sharing what has worked for me in hopes of helping other people who H A T E their skin. -Topically, I ONLY use Niacinamide Vitamin B3 Cream Serum 5% by Skin Daily. No washing, no scrubs, no masks-- pretty much caveman status. A drop goes a long way so the bottle will last a while. I'm never oily when using this unlike a lot of other products I tried. It's really improved the texture of my skin, smoothing and plumping (is that a thing?). I think it has also helped with some of the hyper pigmentation as well. The only other topicals I like as much are aztec/cider vinegar face mask and honey/cinnamon/nutmeg mask. I used to do one of those masks EVERY DAY in hopes of a miracle for my skin :( but now I don't need them. Unfortunately it is a little pricey but if you're like me you'll pay whatever it takes (well, maybe not a yacht) to have clear skin. -Internally: Every day I take gaia milk thistle (to fight inflammation---game changer!x3), nature' way alive! women's multi (warning it tastes super nasty but is bearable with fruit juice x3), align probiotic (x1), and naturemade fish oil pills (x3). Nothing helped me clear up like taking these supplements! I would say I am 95% clear on them and improving. Before these I cut out bread, potatoes, pasta, chocolate, dairy, and most other glorious foods in hopes of helping my body to no avail! I tried vitex/chasteberry, inositol powder, fermented cod liver oil in cinnamon tingle (still puking), synthetic vit e, maca root, hyper biotics, opti-women, turmeric, and countless more with little to no success. These days I am still conscientious about what I eat but not militant about food like I was when my skin was so horrible. Sugar and caffeine make me more inflamed so I do moderate my intake of those. If you can do nothing else I would recommend the gaia milk thistle. (Amazon has the best price I have found-but if you're desperate Whole Foods has it for like $40). Anyone with serious acne has an inflammation problem that they may nor even know about, and the milk thistle was huge in getting that under control for me- my skin was WAY less red and inflamed within days of starting it. I hope this helps anyone with skin issues looking for an alternative to meds or BC or SA/BP for managing their skin issues :) Best of luck getting clear!

The texture is light
This acne cream works really well! It helped reduce my breakouts without drying out my skin. The texture is light, absorbs quickly, and is easy to use every day. My skin looks clearer and smoother after consistent use. I would definitely buy it again!
