One of the best books on Wright
I've read many books about (and a few by) Wright, and this ranks among the very best for me. The text is thought-provoking, discussing Wright's many innovations in home design (and some of his failures), and the ways in which he presaged the current Green building perspective. And the dozens of photos are stunningly beautiful--better than most other photos of these houses I've ever seen. Highly recommended.

Great balance of text and pictures
This book does a great job of balancing the amount of text with example pictures of Frank Lloyd Wright's buildings. I also like that the author points out, "We should not idolize Wright. His buildings did not always live up to his own ideals, let alone our idealizations of him," (p.13), and he gave a few examples. He also points out how our Green movement is at odds with some of Wright's ideas, like reliance on cars. It puts Wright into perspective: he was only human and made mistakes as he experimented with new materials and new technologies as they became available, but a lot of his ideas were sound and that's what the book mostly explores. This book does a great job of showing Wright's ideas of designing houses to work with sunlight, wind, and water to create energy efficiency and a comfortable living environment in various climates; working with nature instead of against it.

Worth It
I am really happy with this book. I enjoy architecture as a hobby, but this book is more like one of art. The photos are really nice and pretty inspiring. If you are fan of FLW, then this book is a no brainer. Great addition to my library and a nice motivational tool if you're into architecture.

Corner bent & wrinkled up
Was a gift but received with hard covered corner bent up and wrinkled up, so didn’t gift it. Was very disappointed.

Stunning photos! Makes a great gift for designers and architects
I bought this book for my father-in-law who is an industrial designer and a huge Wright fan. I was looking for an outside-the-box Father's Day gift, and struck gold when I came across this wonderful book. The photos are stunning! He was very happy with the selection. The other day, I saw that he had the book open on the dining room table. It's been a little over 2 months and he still can't put it down. If you have a designer, architect, furniture lover, or art aficionado in your life, they'll certainly appreciate this book.
