Tough Outfitters Mosquito Suit - Mosquito Repellent Clothing Men Women - Insect Bug Proof Net Mesh Clothing for Gardening

These arrived three days ago and right away I knew I'd gotten a good purchase. I am 5'6" and about 160 lbs, and the small/medium was just fine. The pants are loose enough to pull on and off over my shoes and the top pulls on over my Aussie hat no problem, and the fine fabric mesh keeps everything out. The drawstring ties at the cuffs are easy to use and cinch up fine. Just tuck the long pull cord up under the cuff so it doesn't catch on things. We have teeny tiny gnats that hover around the eyes, tiny flies that bite multiple times around the ankles without your knowing, and then mosquitoes of all sizes. The fine mesh keeps them all out. Have used them every day working outside since they came, and they let in the breeze and are not as heat retentive as an all black mesh suit would be. I had read reviews that said the black mesh is much easier to see through and it probably is, but I've found the glare of light on the khaki-colored mesh in front of the eyes isn't bad and is much lessened by wearing polarized sunglasses over the eyes. I wouldn't recommend a total black mesh suit because it would be terribly hot. I've ordered a black mesh head covering too which hasn't arrived yet, and I can always use that with this suit and just pull the khaki headpiece off, but so far I can see well enought. This lets air through pretty well, and does not make it very hot underneath. It's baggy enough you can wear shorts under it, and even a tank top. No bites yet through it. One other thing I was concerned about is will this netting catch on everything? Today I had to stuff tons of sharp winterkilled bush branches into the trash wheelie for pickup and had no problem. When it did catch, it didn't tear. I even banged my knee into a sharp corner of my irrigation pumphouse lid, broke the skin, but not the mesh legging. So I'm totally satisfied! NO MORE BUGS biting me. Why didn't I buy this sooner? Yay!!!

I was doubful when I received the clothes. It didn't feel very breathable and I was going to a 30C weather camping. Surprisingly it was breathable and kept bugs away. I just needed to make sure it stayed away from my skin, and stay puffy. Higy recommend wearing a hat else the net will stick to your face. Get S/M if you're under 2meters height. Bought M/L for my 180cm husband and had to return it to change to S/M. m/L feels like a huge tent.

What a relief to go outside at dusk or later to water your plants and not get bit! Would give the suit 5 stars, except visibility is decreased when wearing the screen over your head. From what I've experienced, it also blocks No-Seeums.

My wife can receive a mosquito or other such bite just looking out the window to our backyard. When she goes out there to work the plants/garden, she has to lather up with deet-Off, and even then she will count the welts to me the next morning. Our daughter sent us a link to the Tough Outfitter's bug garments, so I surprised my wife with a set of the jacket-hood-pants. Once we received them and she put them on, she spent 5 hours outside and came back in with NOT A SINGLE ITCHY WELT from any bites. KA-CHING!!! This was money well spent, even though it is not expensive at all. Happy wife/happy life. She will now be able to work outside and not have to go through bottles of calamine lotion. THANKS Tough Outfitters!! The only thing that she found just a little bothersome was the fact that the hood material rested too much on her face and she got a little claustrophobic at first. Plus when it is 98 degrees here is Austin, it can get a little warm wearing the material. And she can't wear this when working within the rose bushes/thorns since it will catch/tear. But those are all easy work-around situations and not show-stoppers (work earlier in the morning when it is cooler, for example, which she couldn't do before due to high numbers of mosquitoes). Again, great product for fixing an major issue when working outside.

Mosquitos can and will bite you right through the fabric. They don't get into the suit they just land on the fabric and they wait until the fabric moves close to your skin. Because of the sizing (its VERY oversized - I'm 5'4" 130 lbs so ordered the small / median but I was swimming in it) you end up with a lot of fabric floating around you which does keep the mosquitoes off - but ANY area where the fabric touches down on your skin, they will take the opportunity to bite. If you sit, game over they'll surely get you. I did like that the hood kept the mosquitos off my face and I think ticks will cling to and collect on the material but not get on me directly so that's a plus. I'll use it for mowing the lawn and quick trips to out to the garden but I won't count on it for preventing mosquitos from biting me. I may douse the fabric in a natural bug spray to see if that helps any, diet would probably ruin the fabric as it is synthetic. The fabric caught easily on a wood door with a rough edge so be careful as it is delicate, would not use while doing anything labor intensive and don't walk by any plants with thorns or it will surely tear.

I tried wearing the suit on three separate occasions and was bit multiple times right through the suit. Don’t waste your money.

My brother uses this every day to go outside, and it's held up wonderfully. He hates bugs and won't go anywhere near them normally, but with this suit he can go outside and enjoy the summer again as he says it keeps the bugs off enough that he's comfortable facing his phobia of them. Great purchase!

All in all a good product against biting bugs. The material is on the dark side and makes seeing a little challenging especially when working in the garden. If you buy this you will find it effective against black flies, mosquitos and no-seeums but if the weather is warm you will be hot in the suit. It’s a trade off for not having to use bug repellents.

After once use for 3 hrs the pants tore in the crotch area. I expected the item to be more durable given that it is for outdoor use. I did not do exercise or anything out or the ordinary. I wore it under a dress, outdoors for a sunset time with sneakers and socks. (Except for the shoes) I recreated the look in the picture and have shown up close what happened to the pants. I did not sit on anything that might tear the material, nor did I walk excessively. Though a S/M size, it is quite large, which I was happy about. I can't imagine what made it tear like that but this is meant for over the top of clothing and to be worn outdoors. What would happen if I wore it hiking? I expected it to be much more durable. I am very disappointed as I wanted to wear this often as I have moved somewhere with many mosquitoes/midges. :( This would have been perfect if it was good quality.
