I forgot it in my car for two days. When I tried to open the lid to clean it, I was in for a foul surprise. Little did I realize (and research now tells me) these plastic shakers + protein + oxygen and moisture = a perfect environment for dangerous bacteria. While I was able to stomach washing it out, the putrid smell never went away. I gave it a vinegar soak, and eventually in desperation a bleach soak and NADA. I had an old bodybuilding.com plastic shaker I know I have forgotten to clean and while it has a faint funky smell, I've owned it for over a decade! This one was owned for less than two months and was ruined by a couple of days of forgetfulness. For this reason (plastic choice) I'm gonna have to knock my original review way down. Original 4 Star Review: So let me get the reason why I had to knock a star off out of the way: the lid system on the mini containers that attach. They for some reason lock so firmly into the cup that when you think your twisting it off, you have to make sure by actually eyeing it and doing it over a place you don’t care about, or else things may get a little messy. Twice I had the misfortune of being rushed and spilling a little or almost all the contents in them (from milk to protein powders) so there’s that...I also think this plastic clings to odors more than this other cup I've owned for years. So be wary! Otherwise... l love the size! It's perfect for any type of fridge and more than enough for the average person consuming a protein shake. The mixer ball does a decent job (there’s usually some clumps with the powder I use, but not horrid) and doesn’t airarte (causing bubbles/foam) as horribly as my old one used to. Fun color, the containers are life saving 95% of the time and the top is definitely spill-proof and ergonomic!
