The description is accurate in so far as it is a hunting latch. Beyond that, unfortunately, the level of quality is decidedly sub par. In the picture it appears as a sleek, crisp purposeful piece of gate furniture, what arrived was the welding project of a 5 year old. The backplate is bent, the keeper is impossibly loose (..and also bent) and the extension bar is so far out of kilter that I would have to be suffering from an inner ear complaint before it looked anywhere near straight....and the welding holding the "hunting" aspect to the original latch, well, a troop of monkeys left for the afternoon with a Mig and a reel of wire could have turned out something more plausible. So ultimately, buyer beware, sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

Excellent quality

It was delivered on time, but the packaging was totally inadequate and the item was falling out - even the courier commented that it was ridiculous to have placed the latch in a plastic bag with no wrapping and expect the bag to not split. The latch was poorly finished, with the end of the handle being rough: it had to be rubbed down to make in smooth enough to use. The welding was substandard and broke a week after the latch was fitted. Very disappointed with this.
