I originally was planning to use the strap (x2) but actually in use I prefer the ear hooks which still keep your glasses securely on your face. As an added benefit as a varifocal user they ensure that your glasses remain in the correct position on your face for optimum viewing rather than slipping down your nose as can be case otherwise which is important since it can create distortions in your vision as well as been a little irksome.
