JetJWBS-15-3 3 hp Bandsaw with JMB-UMB Universal Mobile Base

Absolutely LOVE the Jet 3HP JWBS-15-3!!!It is the perfect saw for the money for a semi-pro and enthusiast woodworker.Note that the included 240V cord is barely adequate and very unique, requiring a custom 240V outlet (flat 3).Recommend changing out the cord to a more conventional 240V configuration, and updating the wire to at least 12 AWG (10AWG is better and allows for a longer cord, mine is now 15' long). As always it is best to work with a LICENSED ELECTRICIAN for any electrical modifications on the tool.Also recommend changing out the included blade to a higher quality brand such as Timber Wolf or Starrett.

This is easily the best Bandsaw I have ever owned. After being properly set up it has been accurate and easy to use.It is a VERY heavy tool as well as a little pricey. It was not easy getting the 400 lb (shipping weight) down a flight of stairs into my shop, but we got it done. It runs quietly and smoothly as well.The Amazon delivery service was great. They showed up right on time and we're willing to put it into my garage for me. It was well created and arrived in perfect condition without a scratch.

I received this bandsaw and spent a good chunk of the day unpacking and assembling it. I then started to calibrate the blade to the miter slot and discovered that the miter slot isn't straight! Just about any other thing can be adjusted but the machined slot in the cast iron table top isn't straight. It's bends about 1/16" over 16". I'm going to contact Jet customer service in the morning to see about replacing the top. Returning the saw at this point would be a HUGE hassle. Not at all what I expected out of a $2500 tool. This is more what I’d expect to find in a $200 Harbor Freight saw, and I’d return that too.

I am using it mostly for re-sawing. It works great! Awesome tool, but i fear that when i put a fine tooth blade on it for cutting veneer it might be a different story. The upper bearing blade guides will not adjust squarely with the blade likely allowing the blade to twist a bit.

I bought this from another company, no tax & free shipping. It arrived at my house and they brought it into my garage. It is very heavy. It was very well packaged in a frame of wood so there was no damage. This band saw is solid and well built. It came with a good fence that can be finely calibrated. However, the fence is not perfectly square to the table when it is adjusted for the ripping function; thus the reason for 4 stars. I would give it 4 1/2 stars. It is quiet and the various blades I have purchased stay on track on the heavy duty wheels. I did the ole nickel test for my son; he was impressed with how stable it was and how little vibration there was. The nickel never wavered.
