Can this be kept in the shower?

Yes and no. It needs to be kept dry after each use or it will begin to smell like the badger. If you don’t mind the smell then yes. I rinse mind out after each use and set out to dry. There’s a warning that is with it about the smell. I’ve had no problem with mine.

Is the handle made of wood?

It appears to be wood covered by a black plastic- like material.

does the brush “shed“? I have a West Coast Badger brush that sheds worse than a dog.
