The Gruffalo in Scots (Scots Edition)

What fun! I fell in love with the "English" version while subbing at our local preschool. I had to have both versions. I have been practicing the Scot version for a read-aloud at our local preschool. The preschool teacher has most of Julia Donaldson books and a couple of the DVDs for the class. The preschoolers love the books and the DVDs. To my delight, I was already familiar with one of Julia Donaldson's books "Super Worm." Another preschool to second grade delight. Thanks!

If you’re of Scot heritage this is a fun read. It takes some practice reading it but it gets easier I promise! :)

I love this! If you like this story of the smart mouse and have it memorized, as almost everyone does, you will adore it done in Scots. The cultural linguistic variations are fantastic and entertaining!

We love the Gruffalo and found this book while on vacation in Scotland. We elected to purchase the Gruffalo's Child in Scots (Gruffalo's Wean) but not this one while there and regretted not getting them both because my daughter loves this book more than just about any other. I found it on Amazon.co.uk, but didn't want to pay nearly $20 between conversion rate and shipping so I was excited to find the same book on Amazon.com. If you have any Scottish in you then you will love this book, but you will have fun even if you don't.

This is a great book: the story is clever and the illustrations are adorable. Unfortunately, I bought it as a gift for a four year old who found it frightening.

I ordered this for a Scottish friend to read to her daughter and to have a bit of Scotland with her in the US. She loved it, this is a classic little Scot book is a must have, especially for people away from home. The book itself was in great condition upon arriving to me as well.

This is very cute for a child who has good language skills. Ordered for my son who is studying German.

I bought this to put in the staff room at my school and everyone had so much fun trying to read it and do the Scottish accent. Many of us took it to read to our classes and the younger ones definitely did not find it as funny as we did. Great fun and so cheap!
