Review: Great product, high value... - This review is for the Explore Scientific 20mm Lens with a 68 degree field of view. I had been looking at the Explore Scientific line-up for some time, when I saw that they were running a sale, I made my purchase and I'm very please with the eyepiece. This lens is a high quality product which produces crisp and sharp images. I found that while viewing the moon, even with various filters the lens is easy to focus. The construction material is aluminum and all markings are clearly labeled, making access to the lens quick, even in darker conditions. The lens functions well in a variety of telescopes, due to its 6 elements in 4 group design. A word of caution, the lens is heavy when compared to some 20mm eyepieces. However, the weight is in line with other lenses that would be in this class and price range. To that end, the lens may not be suited well for a smaller scope, something that would be less than 100mm or perhaps a 660 focal length. This of course will depend on the type of telescope and mount as well. In terms of accessories, the internal threads are cut well and the fit for 1.25 inch filters is perfect, and what you would expect from a quality manufacture like Explore Scientific. I can recommend this eyepiece, the quality is there for viewing the skies as well as for those who may be interested in astrophotography... I expect the product to last for years to come.
Review: Great eyepiece for the money! - I typically buy the Explore Scientific 82 degree UWA eyepieces. This one has the 68 degree AFoV. I had an 18MM UWA on back order but no telling when it was going to arrive and this was $100 less and 1 1/4" rather than 2" so fit some scopes I have with 1 1/4" visual backs and diagonals. There was nothing lacking in the field of view bring a SWA rather than UWA. I truly did like the views and they were WIDE. Eye relief was great and the product flawless. Same great images and quality as the UWA eyepieces. I might even consider having purchased the 68 SWs had I not already had two of the UWs given to me and wanted to complete the series. This takes nothing away from this 'keeper' though. It will fill a niche that the 18mm 2" won't. GREAT EYEPIECE, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it 2" or 1.25" ? This is an important data!**
A: The 16mm is a 1.25

**Q: Does anybody know how this eyepeice compares to the TeleVue 24mm Panoptic in terms of performance, light transmission, sharpness, etc?**
A: The Explore Scientific is a superb eyepiece. Even light transmission, tack sharp images right up to the edge of the field. Furthermore the FOV and eyecup to block out any outside light are a great asset. I can't compare to the TeleVue because I never used one. I'm sure the differences are extremely minor, except for the price difference!

**Q: Do you all actually test every eyepiece in a meter of water for 30 minutes?**
A: Yes, each eyepiece is tested exactly as stated – at least 30 minutes in 1 meter of water.

**Q: I am ordering an 8" Orion Intelliscope which comes with 1.25 eyepiece..........will I need an adapter ring to use the 2" ?**
A: The 8" Orion Intelliscope comes with a 2" crayford style focuser. It has a 1.25 adapter. Have fun-good scope.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing optics
*by E***E on December 26, 2019*

I love this eyepiece, I use it for binoculars or better to say telescope binoculars Oberwerk 100 SD, amazing lenses the only problem I encounter was it curbs when you look a straight structures but I asume it is due to I used 2 eyepieces in my binoculars, amazing optics for the money, never get dump or dim when it is humid, field of view needs to get better for a82 degree but it is ok. I want to get the 100 degrees but it only comes in 2 inch barrels
