Klein Tools IR07 Dual Infrared (IR) and Probe Pocket Size LCD Digital Thermometer

Love this thing. Easy to use, great accurate function. Does all the stuff that my fieldpiece did for a third the price. This tool is crucial for the work I do, I use it for checking delta T and temp rise on HVAC systems. Awesome tool, very pleased.

As a Corporate Chef that travels and utilizes both the probe and the Infrared functions daily, this is a great product at an incredible price. It’s better than any other version of this type of thermometer I’ve ever had. I have utilized these for 5 years now and the only thing that causes me to replace it is because I give it to my peers when I’m feeling nice.

Not sure where all the concern as far as durability is coming from on other reviews but this is by far one my favorite tools in my toolbag I work in hvac and this thing can handle everything it needs to while being more capable of giving quicker and accurate measurements then other brands.the t1 an t2 feature is super helpful and the probe is super quick compared to others I've had in the past .the laser on it is just as lethal. I read the other reviews and thought I'd take the gamble and im glad I did my life just got alot easier

Good from a technical tool.

I have many Klein Tools. Love the quality. That’s why I paid $50 for this combination instant read probe & IR thermometer. It’s works very well. Did not need temp adjustment as it’s right on temp. We all fry stuff with oil too hot. You shouldn’t be over 400, and not under 350. If your oil is smoking, it’s too hot or wrong oil! It’s hard to know on even a good stove or grill. I guess if you have induction burners you can keep oil temp at or below 400F. Anyway most need this tool to know for sure. One nitpicking fact tho. It’s left handed! Yes if you use your right hand to measure temp either probe or IR the display will be upside down. I am VERY right handed, thus uncoordinated left, so I find that annoying. You’d think Klein engineers would have programmed a setting where you can change that readout. My Thermapen MK4 screen rotates as you move it. These work great, just don't forget to grab them when you are done with the job! I have gone through 4-5 now, I keep leaving them on top of air handlers stuck in the supply duct -_-

IR function works great for surface temperature check, and probe is awesome with ambient temperature or sticking through a vent. Quick to use, sturdy in the hand--seems accurate when comparing to bulb thermometers.

Over the years, I’ve used a lot of tools that fall into this category. I find that Klein can be called upon when you need a quality tool at a bit higher price. This thermometer is a great tool for taking temperatures for personal or professional use. I use this as my AC Delta T tester to determine the drop across the coils. Most plenums I see today have access ports in them so I’m not going to poke a hole… but, if they don’t, I use the IR to take readings in each of the rooms to try to get a good idea of the delta T. The tool works well and seems to be accurate or at least consistent for sure. Here is where I think Klein missed the boat on this one. It should come with a holster to use with your belt/tool belt. I’ve found an old flashlight holster that I use and it is perfect. I just think that it would be well suited to add that with this kind of a tool that gets carried FAR MORE than used when you are in this kind of a situation.

Being chef it’s a must to have. It became one of my essential items on shift. Very recommend. Sturdy as a rock and accurate and fast showing temperature.
