Collects Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (2006) #0-18. Padawan Zayne Carrick is suddenly a fugitive framed for the murder of his fellow Jedi-in-training. Little does the galaxy know, Zayne's own Masters are behind the massacre and dead set on recovering him before he can reveal the truth. Review: Boy was I glad I did - I bought this on the May the Fourth sale and was moderately tentative (John Jackson Miller's "Kenobi" was passable but not really inspired in my eyes)- but out of interest in the Old Republic era (enjoying the entire series of games and a couple of the books), I gave it a shot. Boy was I glad I did! The tale is well-told and deep, much better than many of the other comics I've read- the art is top-notch and the characters are well-rounded and fit seamlessly into the Star Wars universe. Many, many props to JJM for this awesome series! Review: Loved it! - Iโm on journey of reading most things that fall into Star Wars but I made my own timeline consisting of Legends and Canon. This was a really good read and it completely held my interest. I can wait to read Vol. 2 & 3. Well written and exciting to read.

Four Stars
Great art and decent story. Was hoping for more bad-guy story. Clumsy clueless Zane is interesting despite himself.

So Much Fun!
Hot off Tales of the Jedi, Knights of the Old Republic soothed my broken heart! Zayne Carrick is a Jedi padawan accused of murdering fellow apprentices by the same masters who slaughtered them, misinterpreting a vision. Zayne has to go on the run, making allied along the way - Heirogryph who's a witty conman, Camper a senile scientist with a dark past, his ears Jarael a tough hybrid warrior-woman, and Slyssk who's a lighthearted Trandoshan pilot pretty good at making pancakes. Zayne is a likeable guy down-on-his-luck, an everyman unlike most Jedi we're used to who get a lot right. There's plenty of good humor and I enjoyed seeing what the Mandalorians are up to shortly after TOJ, now led by Mandalore the Ultimate who took over his predecessor who served Ulic Qel-Droma. These adventures of Zayne are tied to the events of the pivotal Knights of the Old Republic video games and the Old Republic MMO so the reader is introduced to Malak very well and a Revan cameo. Looking forward to reading volume two!

For true fans
Before Disney ruins the old republic with the high republic read this series. With focus on story with a truly diverse cast of characters. And spoiler alert the part were Jedi murder their Apprentices Then frame the soul survivor for the murders over bad dreams Actually works here. Because unlike Luke Skywalker these Jedi were at the time blank slates without set Rules of how they think and act.

Great original storytelling for fans of The Old Republic era
I just now got around to reading this. And, as a huge fan of KoTOR I and II, I loved the nods to the video game series. This is fantastic storytelling, and treads new ground while staying true to the spirit of Star Wars. Highly recommended to fans, especially if they haven't given the Old Republic era graphic novels a try yet.

What a blast(er)!
The (mis)adventures of Zayne and friends are Star Wars storytelling at its finest. Action, adventure, humor, moments of sadness... all set thousands of years before Luke and Leia, when the Mandalorian wars were ravaging our favorite galaxy far, far away. Good stuff!

My first trip through Star Wars comics
I have been a long time fan of Star Wars. This was my first journey in the graphic novels of the Star Wars universe. I was delightfully surprised. The story was very engaging without having to be a fan or know much. The art work was well done with a large pallet of vivid colors. This was an awesome start to what I know will be an amazing story.

Five Stars (Fiction / 407 Kindle Locations)
This series is well written and quite endearing. Based on the video game of the same name. The art can be inconsistent in some panels though but that happens few and far between.

Surprisingly Fun
The art was much better than I thought it would be, same with the story. The characters were fun and the mysteries worth following.
