The Filter holder has a ridge that fits in the filter folds to help hold it down properly. I didn't have the tools to modify the holder - so I modified that the filter and made a slit when the holder slot/ridge would sit correctly. Making a slit on one side seemed to be enough. This filter was much better quality - it was thicker on the sides and seemed to hold it's shape better. The filter materials seems to be much thicker than the plain paper one. Hoping this will trap all the allergens/pollen for the wife. Also to note - the old filter wasn't sitting quite as tight as it should and you could see on the edges where there was a gap.
