The author does explain how these trends have influenced the food of Santa Fe. The recipes are, for the most part, not difficult to prepare, but a novice cook may find some recipes challenging. This is also a good "reading cookbook", with lots of explanations and information. This book has nice sketches, but is not filled with photographs.
