This great for proofing dough prior to baking . . . . it came right out of the basket. But it was smaller than I expected. However, the sourdough loaf was perfect when it came out of the oven!!

Well made. Perfect size for a 750g sourdough loaf (weight before baking).

When I first opened it I thought wow, that is going to be way too small! But I have used it to cold proof sourdough and it is the perfect size. Some of my best loaves ever as a result! It will take a bit more curing to keep it from sticking but that comes with time and use.

Nice basket. Smaller than I expected, but seems to work as it should. I'm new to sourdough and this is my first oval banneton so I have nothing to compare the size to. My wood pulp round bannetons are larger. I line mine with parchment paper for proofing.

Great proofing basket for sourdough bread. This basket when thoroughly floured with rice flour is great for the final sourdough proofing. The rice flour, rubbed into the spaces between the coils of wood, prevents the dough from sticking and allows the shaped loaf of dough to come out easily for placement in a loaf pan for baking. The ridges of the coil make nice shapes in the dough too. I use the cloth cover to protect the floured basket as it isn't necessary to wash the basket between uses. In fact it is best to not get it wet. I like the oval.shaped loaf so I use this basket more than another banner on I have for round loaves.

The size is fine for a 500g bread flour loaf. I’d give the basket itself a 5 and the liner a 1. I washed it on delicate and hung to dry. On the 2nd washing it started coming apart, so I tossed it. I now flour a thin cloth napkin to line the bowl and that works fine. I find myself needing a 2nd basket and I like this one enough that I will probably buy another even though I know the liner won’t last.

What a great kitchen product at a great price! I initially purchased this 🧺 for my wife as she has a thing for baskets. My initial thought was that when she’s not making us fresh bread, which isn’t very often (plz don’t tell her I said that), she could use it for displaying fruits and/or vegetables in our motorhome. Well, I was right... SHE LOVES IT and hasn’t even had an opportunity to bake us some homemade 🥖 yet. She’s had 🍊 , 🍎 🍏 , 🍐 , 🍌 , 🥝 and 🍅 🍅🍅🍅 in it and they all looked great. She also commented that it is of very good quality and it cleans up nicely. I’ve seen her wash it in the sink, but our motorhome doesn’t have a dishwasher (a machine... I’m often asked to help by washing dishes, so I guess it does have a dish-washer, slow and steady but, precise...). It’s the perfect addition to our camping and motorhome travel supplies. The quality is solid, appearance is neutral, size is perfect and the price was right... As a result of this purchase, I SCORED WITH MY WIFE, that is a home run for making her happy!!! As they say, a happy wife is a happy life, you can’t go wrong with the decision to add this great little basket to your collection (or home decor - full size home 🏠 and/or a quaint little tiny home 🏡 ).

Basket arrived in very good condition but the scoring lame is broken and covered with sticky gluey material. It come in a set and noy sure if i can get a replacement lame only.

Basket quite a bit smaller than expected. Lame ok, not super sharp. Wish they had a round basket in the set. Also the dough scraper would be handy to have rounded edges so you can scrape out a bowl...

I had issues with all items associated with this order. Bread lame got a rust stain on it. Banneton is uneven with bad rattan/poor quality. Linen liner is wrong size and couldn't cover the banneton. Very unhappy with the products. I rather pay more elsewhere for quality and as-described products.

I was told that a proofing basket works better than a regular bowl and the aadvice was absolutely correct. I can see the difference it makes when proofing my sour dough loaves. They definetly rise better in this great basket.
