Okay so I don't write too many reviews for products or services that I purchase. I just don't have the time - but for this particular piece, I had to find the time to do it. Yes, it is *that* awesome. First of all, if I am being 100% honest, I wasn't expecting a whole lot when I bought this. I just needed a decent bag for light traveling and for a leather bag, the price was right. I admit that I didn't read every line of the description and didn't read a lot of the reviews. I was shocked, surprised, and extremely happy when I got the package, opened the box, and extracted a carefully (and skillfully) packed plastic bag with the item inside. I could tell - even through the plastic - that the feel and weight of the leather was way above what I was expecting. While carefully cutting open the plastic, I took note of the fact that every single metal buckle, eyelet, connector, and zipper pull had been individually wrapped in foam and tape to protect the surrounding leather bag - that had itself been folded neatly - with a clear intent to protect it. As the bag opened, I was greeted by the awesome and amazing smell of freshly (and naturally) tanned leather. For those who may not know, the leather you buy in most stores is tanned in factories using chemicals that not only result in a lower "smell factor," but also have the effect of degrading the leather itself - thus shortening its life. Fresh and naturally tanned leather has a unique and (for me) pleasing aroma that reminds me of the leather tack and gear stores where I grew up. Some think it's unpleasant, but to me - it is a huge memory trigger and I love it. For those of you who may find it overpowering - relax and chill. Once it's been out of the plastic and exposed to air for about 24 hours, that smell will become subdued and all you will be left with is the subtle underlying smell of high-quality leather. As for the bag itself, the craftsmanship that went into making it is worth way beyond 5 stars. It was clearly lovingly hand-made by someone with skills beyond that of a simple leatherworker. In fact, it is nearly a work of art. The leather itself is just the right thickness; the colors are both striking and beautiful; the canvas liner is thick and sturdy - and even the side compartments are canvas-lined! Finally, all of the stitching is exquisite and clearly done with strength and longevity in mind. The reality is that you could easily spend ten times as much (or more) for a bag with some "famous" bozo's name on the outside - made in some factory somewhere with the cheapest leather and components they could find - and get less than one tenth of the quality, energy, and love put into this product. I used it this past weekend for the first time and I will say after doing so that I can easily see this bag lasting twenty years or more - which is something you don't find in "luggage" products anymore. Honestly, I don't think this type of quality has *ever* existed in leather bags. My advice is to buy as much and as many of Komal's products as you can before she's famous. I know I plan to...

My grandma was a seamstress who worked with high quality leather, strong perfect stitching, and heavy duty smooth zippers with strong pulls. She would examine every cm of a product looking for the tiniest imperfection or sign of substandard quality. She taught me to do the same. My friends and I love shopping for handbags and they accuse me of being a snob, I always find at least one or two things I don't like. This bag is wonderful and perfect in every way. The smell is exactly what a perfect leather product should smell like. The leather is so thick, strong, and soft! The look and smell are immediately very sexy. The stitching on the entire bag is perfect. Heavy duty, quality thread with lots of double stitches. Zippers are heavy duty and work perfectly smooth, of course they are also perfectly stitched in. All hardware is covered with foam padding. Then the canvas lining on the inside is tight against the leather, not like in handbags where the lining inside moves. It's a beautiful hunter green, perfectly smooth with no wrinkles. Both pockets on the ends of the bag are large and there are also pockets inside. I think all the pockets are the perfect size and in th perfect location. And the straps are beautiful and perfect and have thick padded place that would sit on top of your shoulder, hard to describe that even the padding seems unusually high quality. After I finished examining the bag I got the warm fuzzies. I bought this to be a gift to my husband who travels a lot and I'm so excited to give it to him. But I also think it would impress my grandma so much that I must buy her one also! I think she may get the warm fuzzies too! No one looking at the bag would think it was $80. It is worth so much more, but I'm so glad it's at this price point because a more expensive bag wasn't in my budget, and buying multiples at this price is so doable. And I don't want to forget the excellent packaging and presentation. Listen to the good reviews, if anything the 5 star reviews are an understatement!

This leather bag is just what I needed. The quality is obvious and will last for years to come. Mine, however, was definitely not the color pictured, but after a few minutes it grows on you- not a deal-breaker. The odor is negligible. I mean it's animal hide. It's fine. Also, the picture shoes a different set of pocket options than what I got. There are two zipped pockets, one on each end. There is also one outside pocket in the front of the bag, looks nice, closes with a buckle. There is also an inside zipped pocket. They did, however, listen to the gripes about the removable shoulder harness and put a very nice removable system in place! The shoulder strap is easily put on or off, and is high quality, fine leather with a buckle and strap for length adjustment- along with a slider of padded leather to cover the buckle system with for ease on ones shoulder. VERY happy with this. The strap's connectors seem to be very well made and even swivel in order to move with your body. Awesome, really. I can't say enough how I'm glad a company listened to it's reviewers to fix this problem. I do, however, wish there were a couple of more improvements and I'll have to make them myself. For instance, the bottom of the bag is simply leather.. gonna get scuffed pretty quickly at the airport. A few rubber feet, or even some rivets would help. Also, there is no bottom to the inside of the bag to keep it square, ya know? It needs a piece of thick cardboard or plastic to help keep it's shape. I was going to give it 4 stars because of the color difference and these little things, but the more I think of it, the more it REALLY is a five star bag. The bag came in a sealed plastic bag inside the amazon box that’s why it looks all folded up. However with use it’ll form nicely as it should. The bag is very sturdy and seeems to be very well made. Especially for the money I paid. The only thing I don’t care for is the strap that comes with it. It dosent seem like it’ll last long, but I guess we’ll see. The bag has a beautiful medium tan brown color, can’t wait to watch it age and patina. There is a slight manure smell to it but nothing that will stink up your room. The pamphlet that I got with the bag says it’s a full grain leather that was tanned in the sun and using only vegetable tannins only. There’s a few dye spots on the bag throughout, some people might like that or hate it, depends on your tastes. I like it though. Gives it some character. The zippers are good quality yyk. And the inside of the bag seems to be well made. Green canvas throughout with an internal zip pocket. The side pockets can definitely hold a pair of shoes or other clothes items. The front belt flap pocket is good for a phone or a charger. Overall I’m very happy with the bag and would highly recommend the item. Love supporting small business and owners who take pride in their craft.

I was so surprised when I opened my Amazon package. This weekender bag exceeds my expectations. I was a little worried about the cost. It seemed a little bit high to me, but now that I’ve received it it is worth every penny. I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. I’m so excited about it that I’m gonna give it to her early because she could definitely use it. I also want to add that I was a little leery about purchasing this because some of the reviews stated that it had a terrible smell and that the color was not accurate. I almost didn’t buy it because of these types of reviews. But let me assure you, there is no bad smell at all, and the color is exactly as I ordered it. The leather is definitely quality leather. The zippers work well the buckles for the front pocket are sturdy and work well. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I can't believe this bag was only $70.00. The quality is 10 stars. I highly recommend this bag it will last a lifetime. It will only get better with age.

I haven't used the bag yet, but it is seems like it'll suit my purposes just fine. I have a slightly smaller weekend big, but needed one for slightly longer trips. I like to travel light, so I usually take just one bag. It's big enough to carry a week-long trip, but not too big to use as a carry-on for a flight. Only time will tell, but the bag seems sturdy, and it definitely looks good. As for drawbacks, I was a little worried about "the smell" some reviewers have mentioned. To me, the bag smells as though it's been oiled, like a baseball glove. It was not a big deal for me. I certainly didn't find the smell unpleasant. A removable strap would have been nice, but the it works as-is for me. I did move the shoulder pad from one half of the strap to the other, so it would actually rest on my shoulder. The biggest problem with the bag, and it's not really a big problem, is that the bag doesn't have "feet" on the bottom. So, if you put the bag on the floor, the nice smooth leather on the bottom of the bag will come into direct contact with whatever is on the floor. Still, I'm very glad I bought the bag. It is definitely worth the price I paid for it.

This is the second bag I have purchased from this vendor. I needed a small, flexible weekend bag to fit in the ridiculously small trunk of my new convertible roadster. I bought the 28” bag last year and have used it three times for two to three day get always. It gets stuffed in the trunk with everything else packed all around it. It’s held up beautifully. The leather has aged nicely. It shows no ill wear despite some mild abuse. The initial strong leather/tanning smell is gone. It’s really a beautiful bag. So on our last trip, we decide to ditch the small, ridged carry on bag that my wife was using, and get the 24” bag to compliment the 28” bag we’ve had for a year. I’ve been informed that I get the smaller bag. The leather looks beautiful and all of the stitching and finishing on the new bag looks very good. The zippers work great and my wife likes the side pockets for shoes. I don’t plan on flying with this bag and letting the airline luggage handlers have their way with it, but as a weekend get away bag In the trunk of my car, it’s fantastic.
