Extremely durable
This is an extremely durable camping, backpacking or survival knife. I use it with a large tree branch as a mallet to split wood. Even after splitting a lot of wood you can still practically shave with it. It's super thick and really holds an edge. I have abused it a lot and have not even bent. The only downside if you can call it that was after hours of pounding on it with a mallet the screws holding the handles do come loose. I fix that with a little bit of Loctite. When all is said and done this is perfect knife for splitting wood up to almost 8 inches in diameter.

Impressive quality at this price point
I'm old school and like things to feel solid. Heavy if you will. This is a solid feeling knife. With a full tang and a razor sharp blade that passed the "shave off your arm hair test", it's a quality piece. The hard case works perfectly. You insert the knife and it pops into place. I carry it horizontal at the small of my back, and despite the whole apparatus getting hooked on something or other, the knife stays put in it's case. Yet, it pops right out when you pull it correctly, according to instructions. Also, it easily converts from vertical to horizontal carry. I will definitely buy another with a different blade shape just because. And it shipped fast. Great price. Love it.

Budget EDC
The knife is very well made for the price, thick, heavy and holds a decent edge. The sheath once it's set up correctly rides high on the hip and close to the body how I like it. The little spacers do fall out but that's easily fixed with super glue or epoxy. Once you have the spacers where you like them and which belt you intend to use glue everything in place and the problem is solved. I have varying size belts so I actually purchased several Orela knives and customized the sheath to each belt.

Perfect so far (see update)
If the knife performs as good as it looks and feels then I'll be buying more and recommending the brand. Update coming. Update: I went out out and moderately beat the knife. The blade performed admirably batoning, chopping, cutting, shaving, and even whipping through blackberry vines. Unfortunately, there is one fatal flaw and that is the handle. You only have 3.5 inches of handle and that's just not enough to have a secure grip and leverage to get things done in the real world. In addition, the tang of the blade extends above and below the handle scales (hotspots). This latter issue isn't a fatal flaw because the scales can be changed out easily. Bottom line is that I love the shape and the quality of the blade, but the 3.5 inch handle precludes me from using the knife - which is unfortunate because I wanted to carry this with my tomahawk. Another 1.5 inches (or so) on the handle and this is a solid bushcraft knife. I guess I could make new handle scales and extend them back another 1.5 inches, but it's not the ideal solution.

Nice Knives Ata great price!
This is my second knife from Oerla. So far it seems great, super sharp, I'm am able to cleanly slice through 8oz veg+tan leather no problem, though I will admit that I'm not a knife "power user" or avid outdoorsman, soit will be used only occasionally and I'm terrible at sharpening,. My ownership with it will be my first few steps into learning more about knives and knife care. From a few of the knife makers I know, they are surprised by the quality of the materials compared to the price. And it just looks great, clean lines, beefy tang and spine. What a knife should be!

Awesome knife for the price
I am surprised by how nice this knife is. The sheath seems decent and the belt clip seems kind of cheaply made but it is working ok. The scales on it are nice and comfortable. I do wish the handle was slightly longer as my pinkie barely grips the end of the knife. But that is a nit pick. All and all this make a great everyday use knife or a knife to throw in the bag. Came sharp and the blade was oiled. Make sure to clean it a few times because the oil gets in the sheath.
