Timberland PROMen's Anti-Fatigue Technology Replacement Insole

Great for my chronic fatigue and pain issues
So, I'm a fairly sedentary person. Up until recently, I spent the last 7-8 years working from home while laying in my bed and basically rotting in bed for most of the day on my phone or watching TV. I ordered delivery food so I can eat in bed, etc. Chalk it up to severe depression. The exception to this is when I go to live music performances. And boy does being sedentary suck in these cases: my lower back is usually extremely painful by the time I've been standing for three sets during a concert. You can imagine, then, my anxiety around going to a music festival where I would be standing for 12 hours straight. Especially in my Doc Martens, where the included insoles wore out years ago and I'm basically standing on a hard surface with flat feet/collapsed arches. Ouch! After doing some research, I found that these inserts came highly recommended as one of the best anti-fatigue inserts on the market -- so I ordered a pair. Now, granted, I haven't really tried any other inserts before, so I can't tell how they hold up to the competition (I'll update this review if I ever do!). But what I can say is, these get the job done!I stood for a good 8-9 hours straight at Cruel World 2023, only needing a break near the end. For the first time in my adult life after standing that long, I didn't once think about being in any kind of pain. It was a game-changer.I ended up replacing them maybe 7 months later after I noticed they weren't quite as comfortable as they once were -- and now a year and a half later I'm here to buy another pair for Cruel World 2025. (This time, I have better boots too, and I'm a bit more physically active than I was two years ago.) I know they'll get the job done just like before. All this to say, if you're prone to pain and fatigue from standing like I am, look no further for relief. If they can protect someone as fragile from self-neglect as I've been these last several years, they will probably work for you too.Lastly, I did want to note that I don't really know how long these truly last. Even though I wore my first pair for 7 months, it's not like they'd have gotten me through a 12 hour music festival 6 months in, you know? So don't take that as a testament to their longevity. Rather, if you need relief right away, get these and put them in when you need them -- and then have a backup pair ready to go when they wear out, whether it's in 1 month or 7.

The Best I Can Find So Far.
I've gone through a lot of insoles over the years and these right here are one of my favorites, I've owned several pairs. They truly are anti-fatigue for me. They really reduce the amount of pain and stiffness I have after being on my feet and on the move all day. I put them in all of my work boots. That being said I walk between 8-12 miles a day at work, uphill, downhill, pavement, gravel, operating machines. I also tend to walk with my weight on the ball of my foot, most insoles cannot survive this. I grind a hole right in the middle. These insoles however I can get a good year and a half. That all being said, they are not good enough for me to stop trying to find something better.

They feel good
Shoes, like anything that’s supposed to fit the general public, almost never fit right. I take a lot of time finding footwear that fits my feet and I stick with them because they feel good. A HUGE part of that choice is insole.A little background, I’m a big guy(6’ 300lb). I work in an aerospace machining shop and on the hobby farm at home. I’m standing most of the day and need to feel comfortable so I’m not focusing on what hurts in stead of what I’m doing. I can not stand insoles that are bumpy or feel like my feet are sloshing around in my boots. I need support and comfort. These insoles give that. I wear steel toe Timberland boots. They fit my feet well. These insoles slipped into those boots keep my feet secure and comfortable. I typically go through a set of insoles every six months, but I’m in these boots 14 hours a day. After years of cheap boots, I stepped up and invested in my feet. I wish I had done it years ago. Don’t put it off till you’re in your 40s. Treat your feet well and they will pay you back for the rest of your life. My back doesn’t hurt like it used to. My knees feel better. These insoles work for me. Try them. See if they work for you.I have gone through 5 sets of these insoles in the 3 years I have had these boots. That’s the one downside I see. They wear out. As stated earlier, they last me about 6 months of use. The material on top wears out then the hex pillars below break through, leaving a foam pebble in your boot. That’s when I replace them. Until that happens, they’re comfortable and supportive. I’ve got to the point where I have an extra set waiting in the barn so when the ones I’m currently using are done, I go out and change them out. I won’t ever be stuck with uncomfortable insoles again.

its a love hate thing
To begin with, I find the factory insoles way to thin and make the boots uncomfortable if you are wearing often. If they are just for occasional use then the factory ones are fine as you can get by with them. These insoles feel great. They are thicker and more "squishy" making them much more comfortable. That is also their downside. They are so thick that they make your boots fit a half size smaller. Also due to the thickness and softness in the heal, they make my boots squeak where the insole meets the back of the heal. Not just a little squeak but an obnoxious one. I have tried everything from powder to dryer sheets to taping the inside of the boots and the insoles with sports tape to try to reduce the rubbing. Sports tape works the best and last the longest but the squeak comes back.So they feel great but the noise they cause is too much for me to get through. It causes me to walk differently so that Im not putting too much weight on the heal so they dont squeak when I walk through the building. They are not bad for the price but at the same time, for the price, they shouldnt make noise like this.
