do the guides lock into place when either broke down or stretched out?

No, the guides are free to spin when in the retracted position. The plastic case that comes with the fishing pole is constructed of a hard clear plastic that will hold the guides in place when in storage. The hard clear plastic is drop resistant, we tested this many times.

What is the action of the 5.9ft rod? Will I be able to cast a 1/8 oz rooster tail for trout on 4lb line? Thanks!

The rod is not as flexible as say a fly rod but feel sure it be able to cast reasonably light lure .

can a 8000 size penn reel fit on the 3 meter long rod

The rod is great for spinning reel .8000 size i think it is ok But 3.6m match is better

What is the maximum weight it can hold?

Are you asking about picking up dead weight or a large fish in the water I have caught 20lb pike no Problem
