Simple Flavor Womens Floral Vintage Midi Dress 3/4 Sleeve

*Important note on material per print * *Note on this author: shopping for clothes is not my favorite activity. I put way too much energy into finding the right things so it can be one and done. I provide an obscene level of detail to hopefully help others like myself. The more info the better. * Second dress purchased and this one was a great surprise. I thought I’d be creating a whole new review for this specific dress but it appears as though it’s lumped with the last. *see below* The first dress, the navy blue with hot pink/red flowers, is entirely different material than the deep teal with mustard yellow larger botanical print. The navy is a heavier synthetic. Not my favorite material for many reasons BUT it worked well for this dress so I was going to go with it again on the new dress. But alas! This dress is cotton! Which is perfect for warmer seasons. Light and breezy. Same silhouette but some differences… I will get it perfected at the alterations business up the road. The back of the neckline is wicked high. The first dress was too but this is even more so. The arms are low and a titch tight. If I hadn’t found a great alteration team I’d have to return this beautiful dress. Sounds fancy but it’s a game changer. To keep to a budget, ask yourself if the dress is worth twice what you paid to have a piece that fits perfectly. For me it is as I don’t have many clothes and want the few I do wear to be comfortable. Buying an inexpensive piece is 90% of the dress and the other 10% is fine tuned to my body and taste. Plus, if the alterations are minimal the price is as well. I only say double because I’ve gone that far with a dress they all but had to remake with the material- bridal party business. The cotton isn’t as stretchy as the polyester (or rayon? Something plastic.). They lined the torso on this lightweight cotton dress but not the arms or skirt. I will ask the seamstress to add a little something to the skirt to prevent sunlight illuminating my legs through the dress. Not tested but presumably accurate with the weight. The pattern is busy and the colors are fairly dark so it wouldn’t be a necessity I suppose. Older post below update now: Hello again several months later. I’ve worn the dress countless times. Washes great. I always use the hottest water despite folks insisting it’s unnecessary and harmful to the clothes. I have no issues and the high heat makes the clothes proper clean. I do line dry 100% of the time however. The electric dryer very much impacts many clothing items in an undesirable way. Below I stated the material is not a sensory nightmare. For me this is true. For you it could be miserable. It’s not a dream. The heavier synthetic material is acceptable for the results which are: thick enough to smooth out bumps and warm enough to wear in colder weather. Very stretchy and robust. Would recommend. Hello fellow shopper, From my lived experience there’s rarely a clothing item that feels so bespoke “off the rack”. So rare, I cannot recall the last time I had such an experience. We’re getting awfully close with this one. AND it’s from Amazon at a low price? Stop. Quick facts about author: Demographic- 40’s Body type- Apple (all bust and belly) Dimensions- Height 5’2 (157cm) Weight 200 (90kg) Fabric: Not too bad. Not too bad at all. Now, I haven’t field tested this dress. Only a try on. No washing experience… Material and seams aren’t a sensory nightmare. The material is synthetic feeling but not bothersome (hot humid might be a problem- when isn’t it?). Stretchy material gives “freedom with structure” vibes. We shall see. You know how things can get floppy. I would be surprised if that was the case here but maybe. Weight is medium. Swingy not clingy. Twirl 8.5/10. Silhouette: Fit and flare adds “shape” to the “shapeless”. The shoulder has personality that brings balance. The neckline is Goldilocks sweet- not too high or low, not too wide or tight. Waist is defined and the skirt flows out beautifully. For my body everything lines up right. Reception: Mirror told me I was the fairest of them all. Husband said I looked like a Mennonite. I thought he’d go more mid-century retro housewife, but I get it. *Modest fashion approved!* Last notes: • Pockets are indeed present and adequate. • I slipped it on over my head with no need to fuss about the zipper. • What would I get altered? The sleeve openings and possibly the length. I am debating. My forearms aren’t particularly robust compared to other bits. These sleeves are generous below the elbow. As mentioned in my “about me” section above, I’m 5’2. The dress lands about mid-calf. I could see taking it up to just below the knee. Important disclosure: The color and pattern might have me hypnotized. Is dark navy with reddish-pink pattern the real star here? Would this dress in a solid light color be nearly as magical? I suspect it would not. If money and time were of no consideration I could try on other patterns and let you know with more certainty. Gut instinct tells me this particular pattern is “it”. Hence my selection. To each their own! For me, the color/print combo were the most put-together and flattering. Upon arrival I was not disappointed in the least. If anything, I instantly wanted to buy a whole wardrobe of this dress :) Off to research other patterns and similar dresses by this brand. Good luck on your shopping journey. This dress is AMAZING! To be honest, I didn't expect much, but I am extremely pleased with this purchase! I'm buying more in other colors! Fits great! SO FLATTERING, exactly like in the listing picture on me! I'm about 5'4, weigh about 140 with about a 38 B-C bust, a 32" waist, and 48" hips - and I bought the MEDIUM size. It's VERY COMFORTABLE! This dress falls about mid-calf on me. I'm going to wear a 2-inch pump shoe with this. I'm also an older woman so I got the blue-white print which disguises body "flaws" and minor wrinkles better than solid colors. But even out of the compressed vacuum package, this dress came out essentially wrinkle-free. I might give it a tumble in my dryer with a damp towel before wearing. I like the pockets, and the fabric has a stretchy and soft but substantial hand and excellent drape. The neckline is modest without looking Amish, and the 3/4 sleeves are perfect for any season. The invisible zipper in back is a little difficult without help, but I managed. If you have difficulty or limited reach, I recommend a zipper-helper tool for this (basically a tiny hook on the end of a ribbon to grasp the zipper pull). Amazon sells them or you can easily make one yourself with a small safety pin on a ribbon.

I bought this dress in March, thinking I’d wear it in the fall. My mistake was not trying it on. It’s a lovely dress, the neckline is rounded and not plunging. Unfortunately, as a 5’1” woman it’s way, way too long for me. As it’s too late to request a return, this purchase goes straight into the donation bin as the cost to hem this dress is just ridiculous. It’s really a shame that Amazon does not select designers that afford women on the shorter side options to fit them. We’re not all 5’6”! No fault of this designer but such a disappointment.

I love these dresses, bought the black and white initially and got a lot of compliments, fit is amazing; gives the effect of a neat waist and flares “eloquently”. My mum then asked for one and I bought 2 more, 1 for her and the other for me of course! It has deep pockets, a huge plus, the material is soft but feels strong, and both of mind washed well.

Update: I just put the first review in and also just ordered a different pattern of the same dress. My 5 star review dropped as this is not the same dress. It is much thinner material and stretchy, also ill sized. My chest is the only part that fits correctly, the rest of the dress is big in a weird way. It is just off, the arms are huge, shoulders too large, and the arm pits of the dress hang down half way down the sides of my chest. It is a terrible thing and not flattering. Returning and thankful I got the other version of the other dresses that I received first. This would be a 1 star dress, the other better version is a 5 star dress. I have 5 of these and love them. I went off the size chart, which ended up being the size I normally wear. It fits very well and is quite forgiving. I bought some of the colors/ patterns that I would not normally gravitate towards based on other’s photos. They ended up being my favorite ones. I was not super impressed with the material when I first got it, but did not mind it at all once I wore it. I machine wash and hang to dry. It also does not wrinkle while wearing. They are very flattering and comfortable. The chest/ rib measurements must be correct for it to fit well, use their size chart. Great find.

I absolutely loved this dress when I first purchased it last year. At that time, it was made with 97% cotton, and it was incredible. The fabric was soft, breathable, comfortable, and draped beautifully on the body. It quickly became one of my favorite dresses. Unfortunately, I recently ordered more and discovered that the fabric content has changed to polyester. The difference is very noticeable. The polyester version does not lay against the skin the same way, it doesn't breathe as well, and it simply doesn't have the same quality feel as the original cotton blend. It feels like an old lady dress. I was excited to purchase additional colors, but I am very disappointed with the fabric change. If this dress were still made with the original 97% cotton fabric, I would buy several more. As it stands now, I would not purchase it again due to the switch to polyester. Please consider bringing back the original cotton blend. It was what made this dress so special.

UPDATE 04/2023: After wearing this dress a couple of times, and loving it, I put it on and when zipping up the zipper it broke. As in seperated from each other broke. It didn't come apart from the fabric. I could have fixed that. Now I am left with a dress that I love that I can't wear because it has a broken, faulty zipper. I'm so sad. I'm torn as to weather or not I will roll the dice on another one of these dresses. They fit well and are so pretty. My first dress the zipper has held up so not sure what is going on. I have reached out to the seller since I am way past the replacement/return window so I will update again with how that goes..... I should have reached out to them months ago but life is BUSY. I now have two of these dresses and plan to get more. I have the Red- which is navy with bright red flowers all over, and the Beige- which is white with burgandy and dark pink flowers. I love them both. They fit well and are super flattering. They hug the waist but then fall from there so it hides any tummy bulge. You will need a slip if you get one of the dresses with a white or light colored background, because they're see through. I love the fit, the classy look, the weight and feel of the fabric, the pockets, the neckline, and the length. The chest and sleeves aren't tight and the dress falls just below my knee caps. For refrence I am about 5'9-5'10, 180 lbs. Small C cup. Small waist, big hips. I usually wear a 12-14 in dresses depending on the cut. I like dresses that I feel are classic and that I DO NOT need to wear shapewear with and these dresses fit the bill perfectly. I would highly recommend these dresses.

After scrolling through millions, it seems, of styles, I came across this dress. I'm normally a size M, but after reading the size guide, I went with L as it's machine washable so I could shrink it if need be. This dress did NOT disappoint. The L fits perfectly and did not shrink when I washed in cold and hung to dry. It's fitted at the top thru the waist but has some give so it's not tight. The skirt drapes nicely, not see through and hangs just below my knees. Best of all, it has pockets!
