Fire Red review
This game is great, I left pokemon a year ago, came back, all Pokemon games rock,. One thing about fire red and it's counter part leaf green, is that it does lack what the other pokemon games do have is a post story, a guided adventure after you beat the pokemon league, it does have the seven islands, but that is not quite as much activitey to it, the other one's have this "post story advanture" a little if not wildly better, this is still a great game to buy! It is upsetting that to have pokemon lay eggs you must go to the 4th island, witch is blocked off until the main story is complete, in all other regions of pokemon games you have that ability as soon as you reach the first few towns. It does draw out the fun though to a longer time period, One mor sad thing about this series it that the company that make pokemon games make sure to completley filll your pok'e dex(an in game thing) you must have many games, in fact if you have no pokemon buddies you need the following to do that: A copy of pokemon Firered, leafgreen, and Emrald, plus 2 game boys, can be sp', micros, or gameboy advanced's or any combo, plus a link cable, or two wirless adapters, but this is a great series, as for the games do as the pokemon slogan tells you. GOTTA COLLECT EM ALL! I highly suggest you buy this game!, And the whole series!

Fake Cartridge
Just a notice to anyone thinking of buying from this person (though it's doubtful since they've been inactive for a long time) that I've had a personal experience with their fake cartridges and it seems I'm not the only one! I hope everyone is able to look at this review and learn to see the signs because this was very distressing to me, though I didn't come to understand the situation until just now. At first everything seemed fine; the price wasn't bad, condition was good, and the delivery was speedy! I popped the cart in as soon as I received it and began playing, stopping somewhere around the first gym and saving. It played perfectly, there was nothing suspicious -- until I left it alone for a few days. When I picked it back up and tried to resume my file, it gave me a message that the data had been corrupted but it would be able to retrieve my last save anyway. I was so relieved and at the time I wasn't suspicious at all! I didn't get much farther, though, and after playing a little more I let it sit for a couple years, until tonight. When I picked it back up, it was in the hopes of transferring some of the Pokemon to a newer game. I had just found out about that option and felt like I'd have an easier time with it if I did so. This time when I turned the game on, it told me the save file had been deleted. Now, I still figured this was my fault. I didn't handle the game properly afterward; it sat in a dusty drawer all this time. I didn't remember deleting it, though. I wouldn't have done so intentionally when I had a good line up of Pokemon that I distinctly recalled. Either way, I resigned myself to that fate and tried to at least get the starters into my copy of Soul Silver for the night, just hoping it would manage to save and keep it. I wound up playing for about an hour and a half. When I was getting ready to go to sleep I decided to finally do the exchange but my copy of Soul Silver wasn't registering the cartridge. I tried to reload my save and was met with the same message as the first time -- the save had been corrupted, but it still loaded from my previous save. Again, I blamed myself and sighed, saving one more time as soon as it let me so I could keep trying. It still didn't register, so I went back to Fire Red. This time it told me it had been deleted. Suffice to say, I was very frustrated. I started searching for reasons why the cartridge might be doing this. At first I found innocent reasons like I had thought; damaged cart, dirty circuit board, things like that. It made sense, until someone on a forum mentioned that some fake cartridges produced these exact same messages. I felt like I hit the nail on the head, but how could my cartridge be fake? It looked completely authentic to me. I couldn't have been more wrong about that. My search lead me to several guides on how to spot fake cartridges. Practically all of their hints lined up with my own. Not only was the case of the pak incorrect for the game, but the label itself was too. The Nintendo Seal of Approval is in a completely random place, the model number's wrong, the label itself is incorrect, it doesn't have a special product number hidden in the label, and it even says "Licensed by Nintendo" when it should merely have the Nintendo logo. Looking at other customer reviews, I can see this was no simple accident. This wasn't the first fake cartridge they sold and they left the others they gave them to hanging with no refunds or communication. GBAtopGames is a scam and I advise that no one else attempt purchasing from them -- if they ever come back, that is. Their sudden and lengthy disappearance is suspicious enough to me. They were getting negative reviews and wanted to cut and run with what they had. I contacted the seller but there's very little hope of any reply. I'm not even worried about a refund at this point, I just want to make sure other people don't fall into the same situation as I have! Shop carefully and read ALL of the user reviews on popular games like this! If even one of them mentions a fake cartridge, it would be best if you did not purchase from them at all!

Authentic Cartridge
Thank you to DKOldies for delivering an AUTHENTIC copy of Poke’mon Fire Red. I can verify it’s authenticity with the hidden numbers on the sticker, and the Nintendo code on the circuit board itself. The cartridge came packaged very well, and the game works on my NDS Lite. I can now play Fire Red for the first time in forever, and it’s a huge bonus to have the authentic game. I really wanted to write this review to let people know that DKOldies is a legitimate company that delivers what it advertises. I will definitely order from them in the future if they carry another game I want.

POKEMON'S attack continues... It's super effective!
You know, when I played Pokemon Red and Blue for the first time on the Gameboy, I admit that I kind of got into it. A hundred and fifty unique monsters, each with strengths and skills of a unique and oftentimes supernatural nature, and you had the responsibility of bringing them all together and training them like RPG characters. There's something about the concept that I find appealing, and while Pokemon is an RPG with very little plot (the main reason I like RPGs is that they tend to have pretty good plots,) it does have one other thing that attracted me, at least during its initial release; Pokemon gives you the chance and mission to collect and assemble data to form an encyclopedia on something that is arguably a very interesting form of life. This emphasis on collection is more obvious in Pokemon than in any other franchise, with "Gotta Catch 'em all!" being rammed down our throats from a hundred directions. In the first game, there was a secret pokemon than couldn't be gotten (except through a game enhancer, or a nintendo event that may as well have been a lottery,) but it was the last in the pokemon encyclopedia, so if you missed out on it, there wasn't a hole in your pokedex or anything. Fortunately, back then, video game enhancers were simpler and more reliable than they are today, and I managed to get hold of Mew, although it wasn't easy, fun or fair, in my opinion, of Nintendo to put a pokemon in the game they didn't intend to let the gamer catch for themselves. This factor of Pokemon games has always infuriated me, particularly since the genre of catching and training strange animals is woefully small. Pokemon seems to be the only one of its kind that's made it to America. When I played Gold and Silver, the same sort of thing happened. Once again, Nintendo gave us a huge number of monsters to find and train, this time closer to 250, and once again, Nintendo stiffed the gamers, both on the chance to fill in Mew's slot legitimately and reliably, and on a new Pokemon as well; Celebi. Ruby and Sapphire was even worse, since they actually subtracted from the total number of pokemon available since the previous games, but then I heard news of two new pokemon games that promised to make it possible to complete the Pokedex, while returning the gamer to Kanto; the region I was most able to tolerate, of all the Pokemon games. Well, I had a feeling I was about to be suckered again, but I gave this game a shot. I don't have a working Action Replay, but I do have a reasonable-quality gameshark that works on Ruby and Sapphire, so I played through this game once. I got the first 150 and aquired the gemstones to enable trade with Ruby and Sapphire (a nice touch,) only to find that I couldn't get Mew. My gameshark worked on R&S, but not on FR&LG, and I thought I'd be able to just catch Mew in Ruby and trade it to Firered. Problem is, for whatever reason, Nintendo made Mew untradable. Once I found that out, the game was ruined for me. If Nintendo wanted to give gamers the chance to 'catch 'em all,' they could at least have had the courtesy to do the thing all the way. This makes me sad and disappointed with Nintendo and with the world of video games for failing to offer what I was hoping against hope for, but to be honest, I'm not terribly surprised. This is something like the hundred and twenty seventh time Nintendo has gipped gamers and fans they could easily have satisfied and I'm sick of it. As I said, the genre and layout of this game, and of all pokemon games are enticing at first, but unless they can permit the gamer to complete the mission set for them, I'm just not interested in them anymore.

Got an authentic one
It's important to always check the information in detail with these older nintendo games choose a seller that includes pictures, as there are many counterfeit versions. The counterfeit products often don't save right and have other issues. For Fire Red, the real cartridge should look a bright red, almost orange. The holofoil should have bright metallic details (particularly with the white swirls that have their own degree of glossiness) rather than just be flat metallic from simply printing the copied design onto a metallic label. The real ones should also have visible engraved letters under the holofoil just to the right of the Pokemon logo, and a concave circle shape right in the middle of the holofoil. On the back side of a real game, look for a yellowish rectangle of circuitry visible through the case on the upper left. The seller I used also included pictures of the internal circuitry, which is great. There are both 2001 and 2002 dated cartridges that are legit. For American versions look for the letters AGB-E02-20-GND with an uncircled Nintendo logo for the 2001 cartridges or AGB-E02-30-GND with a circled Nintendo logo for the 2002 cartridges at the bottom of the circuit board.

WHEN POKEMON HAPPENS TO GOOD MOMMIES ..
Okay .. so I'm a mother of 3 who has to be told by my kids to stop playing my game and come and eat dinner .. oh well. LOL Anyway, this new version of the old game is pretty good. I certainly enjoy it much more than the original. My only problem is that I got VERY spoiled with Ruby and Sapphire. I miss planting my berries and I really miss my Blaziken! LOL I felt like I had to play this game FOREVER before I got my silly "running shoes". S L O W M O T I O N .. ugh! LOL Pokemaniacs MUST buy these two new games however. It definitely adds to the experience and it was certainly nice to see some old names again. You can't trade with Ruby/Sapphire, etc. until you defeat the Final Four, but experienced players shouldn't take too long to get there. There are a few berries scattered here and there also, but no gardening. However, berries can also be traded once you are the master of the Elite Four. BIG TIP -- Buy the NINTENDO POWER Strategy Guide if you haven't played the old Red/Blue games for a while. I felt a little lost at first and almost made a few BIG mistakes. BIGGER TIP -- do NOT buy the PRIMA Strategy Guide (see my review on that item). No complaints really about the game .. certainly fun, true to form and brings back good memories. It was kind of fun to see a "MEAN" rival again -- I won't tell you what I named him! LOL I just wish that they had made it a little bit more updated .. more in line with the Ruby and Sapphire series .. but, hey, I hear "Emerald" is coming out soon so we don't have too long to wait! :) Game on!

One of the best games ever
Pokemon, whether it be pokemon yellow or pokemon diamond, is amazing. the only games in the series i didnt like are pokemon black and white. the pokemon look more like cheap knockoffs of digimon. but i love the game play of these games. as for the exclusive pokemon available in fire red, (which are NOT found in pokemon leaf green} there are: ekans, arbok, oddish, gloom, vileplume, bellossom, psyduck, golduck, growlithe, arcanine, shellder, cloyster, electabuzz, elekid, scyther, scizor, wooper, quagsire, murkrow, quilfish, delibird, and skarmory. exclusives in leaf green (that are NOT found in fire red) are: sandshrew, sandslash, vulpix, ninetails, bellsprout, weepinbell, victreebel, slowpoke, slowbro, slowking, staryu, starmie, magmar, magby, pinsir, azurill, marill, azumarill, misdreavus, sneasel, remoraid, octillery, and mantine. both games are exactly alike in game play, so if your planning on buying one of them, buy the one with the exclusives you want!

very dissapointed
Was listed as new, it is used, only game pack in case provided, no booklet trainers guide or the wireless adapter, game itself is in very poor condition and often doesn't start right having to power cycle the game several times just to get it to run..... not happy at all

Great service for a great game!
When I first ordered this game, it arrived quickly and was in good condition. However, I soon found that it was damaged as it would not save. After contacting Bargain Products and Gifts about this problem, they replied quickly about exchanging the cartridge for a new one. After confirming that the cartridge was damaged, and not the console it was played on, they agreed to the exchange and sent the replacement in exchange for the broken cartridge. I have since tried the new cartridge and found that it is in perfect working order. It even came with a free case with which to store the game! The service from Bargain Products and Gifts is quick, polite and efficient and even though the original cartridge was damaged, they dealt with the matter professionally and have shown me that they care very much about customer satisfaction. I would definitely recommend them not only for their products as I assume that this was a rare fluke, but also for their service and cooperation.

Fun game
Great game! Fixed some of the bugs from the original game and added some extra content for people who have played through red or blue before.
