Eyeshadow Palette - Barely There

Really nice colours be as brave as you want with these by adding more or nice for a subtle classy look.

This is a really nice nude-barely-there eye shadow compact. It has ten shades, 5 matt and 5 metallic. The colours are from a very pale neutral up to a darker brown. The colours are very subtle and can be layered for more impact. I really like the pale base matt shades and the darker metallics. The compact is well made with a nice large mirror. There is a double-ended brush, which is soft and applies the colour well. I tend to use a mix of colours and more dramatic shades, but this one is really good if you want that more subtle barely-there look. Good set of shades.

I was after a nude eyeshadow palette and although I thirst after the NAKED palettes by Urban Decay, they're a little out of my price range. This is a nice alternative for a quarter of the price. The colours provided range from 'barely there at all, I can't see that I've put anything on my eyelids' to 'this is a jazzy, sparkly bronze that's perfect for a night out'. A couple of the more neutral colours erred on the side of orangey in my opinion, but the darker colours are really nice. This set comes with an eyeshadow applicator brush - one side slightly more precise than the other for application and the slightly larger end for blending. It's not top quality but it's pretty decent. The packaging itself is a little more budget than the UD sets you may have seen (think more plastic, less velvet!) but you get what you pay for. All in all, a decent little kit. Probably good for someone who doesn't want to spend a fortune or is just practicing makeup techniques.

Love this palette - the colours are, as billed, a great range of very wearable nudes, beiges and dusky pink. Within those tones there's a good range of tone. There is a good sized mirror in the lid - which seems to stay shut in my bag. I like the applicator too and the eyeshadow itself has a nice sheen and applies well. It stays on all day and isn't clumpy. Excellent addition to my make up bag and highly recommended.

The box and it's size if very similar to a high end popular brand you can buy in the high street for much much more than this palette. The palette contains 10 squares about 1.5cms in size. you have a mixture of pale, glitter and dark shades which will help you to highlight and create a smoky eye without it being too strong. The colours are actually very nice and easy to apply. Very light so don't expect deep coverage with these tones. The brush isn't dense enough for me. Because both ends are so soft you can't really pick up enough colour. I used my own brush in the end to get the colour on. All colour names are on the back so I assume that should you like certain ones and want to buy a big version you can! The compact seems to have a magnetic closure which actually isn't very strong so I would be worried about this opening in my bag is I was going to carry it around with my during the day.

Please don`t think these shades are in anyway dull or insignificant, used correctly they can give a dramatic look without looking "overdone". I took time out to play around with different combinations and found so many looks from subtle daytime when I wear a BB cream and pale lipgloss to smokey eyes for evenings with dramatic lip colours. Each of the colours is clearly named on the packaging, there is a cardboard box which I intend to keep my pallete in as the plastic case doesn`t have a very strong fastening, there is a generous mirror in the lid and a double ended brush. I found the brush easy enough to use, one end for pale shades and the other for darker and they were good for blending. The colours go on very smoothly and feel cool on the skin, they don`t settle into crease lines nor do they fade. For a natural look I used au naturel all over the mobile lid, naked in the crease line and a touch of birthday suit just below the brow line for a bit of shimmer. For an evening look I would choose nude, exposed and bare skin with a black mascara for added drama. There isn`t one single colour I will not use, I even used stark with a liner brush all round my eyes for a softer look than regular eye liner. The plastic pallette is quite light and doesn`t scream luxury as some of the more expensive brands can but the product is every bit as good in my opinion. It is very well suited to a paler skintone and would be a great first set for someone who is new to make up, lots of colours to choose from without spending a fortune. The shimmer is fantastic and a little goes a long way, build up these shades gradually for the desired effect. I used brown mascara for a daytime look as I found it more natural. This is a great little set and won`t take up too much room in a make up bag or dressing table, the shadows all came off easily with an oily remover so nice and gentle for all ages to use. I think this range offers great value for money and this set would make a very nice gift or stocking filler.

Delivered completely secure and with all powders intact, this is an excellent pallette of colours for everyday wear. There are a great variety of neutral and natural tones to suit all skin types and most occasions, but as the tones are muted I think theyre perfect for everyday and office wear. Not quick to fade and with a generous mirror in the compact for those unlucky enough to try to do makeup on the move, this is a fabulous generous set, still small enough to be portable.
