These rods are good for beginners, but not was disappointed with how fast they rusted and were unusable because the line kept breaking or getting tangled.

This is a great little rod and reel combo for the money. Purchased for my 4 year old when his skills and excitement for fishing outgrew his little Zebco Splash combo. Classic Zebco budget combo that is affordable for anyone starting out regardless of age. Casts small jigs well, super easy to use and comes ready to go, just tie on your hook. He has caught tons of perch, walleye, and pike on this and the rod has held up perfectly fine to typical 4 year old abuse. Highly recommend for anyone starting out or new to fishing. It’s light, reasonably durable, affordable, compact, and easy to use. Excellent value.
