## Overview

Luminos Cold LUM1150 is a bio-based, water-based wood stain protector designed for outdoor use. It features infrared reflective technology to reduce surface heat, protects wood from UV rays, rain, frost, and fungus, and dries quickly without cracking or layering. The black stain offers dynamic color shifts depending on sunlight and wood type, applied easily without sanding between coats. Packaged in a recyclable metal jar, it covers 100 sq ft with two coats, making it a sustainable and stylish choice for enhancing and safeguarding exterior wood surfaces.

## Description

Luminos colours and embellishes outdoor furniture, fences, pergolas, window frames and doors. Apply one or two coats depending on how intense you'd like the colour to be. The end colour depends on the natural colour of the wood. The best effects are gained with light woods such as pine. No sanding required between coats. You'll get an intense colour with a surprising brightness for a wood stain protector. The colour accentuates its brightness to the sun. Use Luminos on any untreated or protector-treated wood. Clean the wood well before applying Luminos. If the wood is already varnished or painted, this layer must be removed beforehand. Use gloves to avoid splashes and stir well with the rod before applying the product. Coats dry to touch after 15 - 20 minutes. Rinse tools with water.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful shimmer “stain”

I bought this because I wanted something on a fun color that was also water resistant, and it seems to meet those expectations; I don’t know that I would call this a stain though in the traditional sense - it dries VERY quickly and can’t really be wiped away like a regular stain. It’s almost like a very thin paint. Regardless, it does the job. Tips: SAND! Sand early, sand often. The smoother your surface is, the nicer it will turn out and show off the beautiful shimmer in this stain. SHAKE IT. You have to shake the crap out of this. If you let it settle for too long, the color starts getting off. So if you’ve been working for a while, stop, put a cap on it, and shake it up. There’s a MASSIVE difference in the tint between right after shaking and about an hour later. Photos are of an Adirondack chair from target online. It took about 3 coats to achieve the color I wanted. The photo of the finished/unfinished comparison shows the original wood tone and two coats. All other photos are 3 coats. I think this is more due to the porosity of the wood rather than the stain though.
