PHILIPS Lighting Sony KF-50WE610 Lamp with Housing XL2100

This is an updated review. This just died on us. It lasted 2 1/2 years. Not horrible, not great. Just bought one for about $24. on Amazon. We'll see how long it lasts, I guess if I get a year or more, it'll be worth it at the much lower cost.

This lamp works ok, but the material and the design is cheap, not as good as the original one coming with the new TV.

Would have rated five it there was no way of documentation that the bulb was a Philips OEM! The bulb did not have stickers or other means...stating is was OEM Philips. Kind of concerned with the cost of product higher than other non OEM products. Time will tell. Besides that, the bulb does the job!

The bulb I got works so far, but it is not as bright as other Phillips bulbs I bought for my other Sony Grand Vega of the same size (50-55").The bulb has no Phillips markings on it and the plastic grate/grille on top is plastic, not metal, both pointing to a cheap replacement when I paid for the more expesive original bulb.This is not what I wanted and not what i paid for. I could have paid about half the money to get this quality.I got taken. BE CAREFUL!

Lamp working well no issues picture is clear and bright,easy to change although instructions were not clear. Instructions on installation were not clear and paper quality made them hard to read.

Even though this bulb was expensive it was the exact same lamp that came in my TV from the Sony factory. The bulb unit is made in USA and the lamp itself is made by Phillips in Belgium. It comes with an instruction set and a hex key for taking out the 2 bolts. The unit was the exact same as what came out except for the stickers that were on the original ( hot surface, don't touch front, etc.) Installation was very easy and when I powered the TV back on my family was very happy. The picture was like I remember it when the set was brand new (2002). Very bright color and sharp edge to edge, I couldn't be happier. From pressing the power on button through warm-up with full brightness and color is about 45 seconds. I just hope it lasts as long as the original (9 years).

Yes it works. I am not sure how long it will last, but the TV is very bright.

SO far so good. Bought cheap bulbs in the past and they did not hold up more than a month or two.
