I ran a dedicated 12/3, 20 amp circuit outdoors so that wasn't a concern, in most of the US an electrician can do that for you for a few hundred dollars. However, if your yard is that large you might want to consider a gas mower or a manual reel-type mower instead. 150 feet of cord is a lot to handle, especially when you are using it with a device that can cut the cord if you accidentally run over it and electrocute yourself to death in the process. **Q: is the wire copper** A: The only power cords that are legal in the US for AC use are copper. If it is a recognized brand like this one, it will be copper. If it is one of the random letters Shen Zhen (China) brands, it might not be. Buy a recognized brand of extension cord to be safe, aluminum is a poor conductor of electricity and in the 1960's people burned their homes down with aluminum wiring (which is why it is banned now). I have bought several things from China that were good quality items except for the cheap, thin aluminum power cord that came with them.
