Works great -- just need to teach my pups how to use it!
We have only had this feeder for a few days but so far I am very happy with it (I will update this review if my decision ever changes). As several people have noted, this feeder does not support 5Ghz networks, only 2.4Ghz, so I had to setup my mesh network to only transmit in 2.4Ghz while I set this up, but everything went smooth after that. PROS: --Setup was simple. --The hopper can hold quite a bit of food, which is something I didn't even realize I would like about this. My old automatic pet feeder had a smaller hopper and could not fit the entire bag of dog food, so I always had 1/4th of a bag of dog food that I needed to store. Not with this one -- I can fit the entire bag in the hopper. --The app that you install on your smartphone is intuitive and easy to use. It uses cups as the measurement (1/8th, 1/4th, 3/8th, etc. all the way up to 4 cups) so it is easy to tell how much food your pet will be getting, unlike my old automatic feeder that just listed the servings as 1 portion, 2 portions, etc. (you had to manually measure it to figure out how much 1 portion was). --It is compatible with Alexa (but some minor tweaks needed -- see the CONS section below) CONS (all minor so far): -I didn't like the command you have to speak to use the Alexa skill. "Alexa, ask Smart Feed to feed a snack" just didn't feel natural to me. So, to offset this, I added a routine in the Alexa app so whenever I say "Alexa, feed my dog" or "Alexa, feed <dog's name>" she interprets that as "Alexa, ask Smart Feed to feed a snack". So now I can say what feels more natural to me, and Alexa understand this and passes the right command to the device. Works great and works from any Alexa device in my house (we have 8 echo devices)! -My pups don't understand that they each have their own dish. The main reason why I purchased this auto-feeder is due to the fact that it supports a splitter and two bowls. I set this up so my dogs wouldn't have to share a bowl anymore, but they still eat from the same bowl together (see the picture). Maybe this is what they prefer or maybe it will just take time to teach them... we'll see. Overall, really pleased with this purchase so far and would recommend this to others.

This thing is a LIFE SAVER!
Seriously, where has this machine been all my life? We have one cat. It's important to note that, because I'm not sure how this would work with multiple cats unless you free feed. But if you free feed, you have no need for an automatic feeder. I have one vet fat, very needy cat. I feed him diet food. He wakes me up at 5 am meowing at my bedroom door. He follows me all over my home meowing. He wakes my toddler up meowing through her bedroom door. This machine has been AWESOME. I can now feed him 1/8 cup 5-6 times a day (and middle of the night). He no longer begs for food. It's accurate on the amount of food it drops. I measured it. It has a smart phone app that alerts me when he's been fed or allows me to manually release food. It will be perfect when we go on vacation. He stresses out boarding anywhere, so this will allow me to leave him at home when we go on vacation. It holds a ton of food. It lets you know when it needs refilling. Only SEMI-con I can find: it's loud. It comes with a stainless steel bowl that's super loud when it releases food into it. He can hear it from anywhere in the house, which is a good thing. He flies down the hall to go eat. BUT I have the feeder in a room next to my toddler's room, and I can hear it over her white noise. And since I have it set to release food at 2 am, I was worried it would wake her. Luckily, she's a heavy sleeper and it doesn't, but it's something to keep in mind. Seriously, buy this. It's reliable, easy to set up and monitor, and it has absolutely saved our sanity and gave me an option for letting our cat stay home during vacation.

Convenient, but prone to burglars
I feed my two cats wet food primarily but use this to schedule a snack in the early morning so they donโt wake me for breakfast before my alarm. I also use it to feed them one of their two daily meals when Iโm out of town, since the pet sitter comes once a day to play and feed the other meal. Itโs easy to use, has lasted over a year now, and works as advertised. My only problem with it is one of my cats is seemingly more intelligent than the other (orange) and has learned to press the button on the top to eat whenever she likes. I taped a cover over the button (which she tears off occasionally), and she figured out how to reach her paw into the food chute and pull food out that way. She taught the orange as well, so now theyโre both a little pudgy. Iโm going to keep it because itโs so convenient for my particular use cases, but if I find something thatโs more burglar-proof I may replace it. Itโs also a little noisy when the food comes out into the metal bowl, may scare anxious pets - can be solved using a different bowl.

The bee's knees
So after resting on the seventh day, God got off his lazy ass and built this thing. I adopted a Great Dane last November. If you've read my other reviews, you are probably quite familiar with Duke. What you might not be familiar with is bloat. It's a condition giant breed dogs with barrel chests are very prone to. Google it, because I just don't love you enough to educate you in this review. Anyway, bloat is caused by a number of things: eating to soon after exercising, eating from a bowl that's too low to the ground, watching rom-coms on Lifetime (I'm not sure about this last one, but if I was forced to choose between this and dying of bloat, I'd say goodbye cruel world). Another common cause of bloat is eating too much at once. That's where this gift from our great deity comes in. You can fill it up with 24 cups of your fur baby's favorite kibble, set your timers and portions, and spend more at the dog park instead of watching movies on Lifetime while you wait for your dog's stomach to settle after his last meal of the day. I have this set to feed Duke three times a day: once in the morning, once at noon, and once around 4:30. This last meal is key. Since you can't exercise a Dane too soon after eating, normally I'd have to come home from work, feed Duke, and watch whatever cinematic excrement Matthew McConaughey recently starred in on Lifetime (I mean seriously, has there ever been a worse channel). Instead, by the time I get home, Duke has long ago finished his last meal, and we are ready to go pick up chicks (I mean play and get Duke his much needed exercise for a healthy and long life) at the dog park. This thing has yet to fail me. It warns me when his food is low. It has backup battery power. I can use my phone to feed him from anywhere if I want to give him an extra treat. And, I don't have to feel too guilty if I work late or want to grab a drink with friends after work. It's not exactly cheap, but its build quality is great, I've had no issues with Duke getting to the food inside, and it has worked flawlessly so far. My only complaint is that the backup batteries can't be charged just by keeping it plugged in. Your phone will tell you when the battery is low, but how hard would it be to add a rechargeable battery.

Poor Quality and Little Support
I loved this feeder while it worked. It was the purr-fect solution for feeding my cat. It was simple, easy, and reliable (until it wasn't, but more to come on that). My cat got his meals on time, and I got peace of mind knowing I didnโt have to wake up at 6 a.m. to him screaming for breakfast. But after about a year of normal use, the feeder started showing its true colors... or should I say, error messages. At first, it would miss a feeding every now and then, like a moody teenager ignoring chores. Then it decided to really lean into its rebellious phase. After a few years, it completely quitโnothing but a red light and a notification on my phone of a "mechanical error." There was no movement, just silence. My cat stared at it like he was in prison waiting for his final meal to be delivered, wondering where it all went wrong. I reached out to customer support, hoping for some reassurance or maybe a replacement. Instead, I got the customer service equivalent of a shrug and an offer to assist me with placing an order for a new one. It was the cat feeder support equivalent of asking โHave you tried turning it off and on again?โ Yes. Many times. Spoiler: that doesn't fix a mechanical problem. For a product that markets itself as โsmart,โ this one has the lifespan of a mayfly with WiFi. It was amazing when it worked, but for the price, youโd expect something that could outlast a phone charger. If you want a feeder that works reliably for a while and then retires early without warning, this is the one for you. Otherwise, save your time and money and consider another model that doesnโt confuse โsmartโ with โtemporary.โ

Recommend
I can't believe I've had this feeder for 4 years now! It has worked great from day 1, until the power went out the other day. Now I can get the unit to power on, even with swapping batteries. The Wi-Fi was really easy to set up and use, especially the "feed now" option and being able to lock the button. I'm not sure I can stomach the price again, but I do recommend it if you're looking for a Wi-Fi feeder.

4 Years Post Purchase and Iโm a Happy Customer
Four years later, and this feeder is still working like it did on day one. Iโve used it consistently with both dog kibble and smaller cat kibble, and it has performed reliably throughout. The only improvement Iโd suggest would be a more robust and versatile kibble dispensing mechanismโฆ the component that actually pushes the kibble out. While standard kibble works great, Iโve tried freeze-dried chunks that occasionally got stuck due to their shape and size. A slightly stronger or more adaptable dispenser would make this product nearly perfect. For comparison, a family member has gone through at least three different kibble dispensers from other brands, each lasting only about a year. This one has clearly stood the test of time. I absolutely recommend this product and would gladly purchase the same model again or an updated version if available. Very grateful for the quality and reliability.

Less satisfied as time goes on.
Update 4/25/22: The more time passes, the less satisfied we are with this purchase. Multiple times a day, the feeder dispenses all over the floor because there is no way to keep the bowls in place. Even on the single feeder without the splitter, the cats manage to detach the base to move the bowl. Why canโt you make a single and double bowl holder attachment that secure to the base with more than just gravity?? The feeders dispense at such different intervals and without consistency that the cats have all started to demonstrate food aggression and anxiety. If the feeders are connected to WiFi and set at the same time, why donโt they dispense simultaneously????? At first we were blaming the food motivated cat for trying to tilt the machines for a jackpot, but now weโve noticed they drop almost 1/4 cup of food if they are bumped at all - with barely any force! Original review: We live with five cats, which is too many imo, but I don't think they could pay the bills without us so we can't move out. During the week, they were great about waking us up at 5am for work (and their mealtime), but I guess they're concerned about those bills because they felt the need to wake us up for work on weekends too. Not to mention, any time we took a few days away they would panic-eat all of the gravity-feed kibble within moments of our departure and we would return to find the house looking like the morning after a kitty frat party. An automated controlled feeder seemed like our best solution, but these are costly. We did our research and this brand came out on top. Pros: *You can feed two cats from one feeder! This was a HUGE plus for us, as we only needed to buy 3 feeders for our five cats. One of our cats is significantly more food motivated than the others, so he received the solo-feeder. *The feeders hold an entire small bag of kitty kibble! We don't use the auto-order feature, because we prefer Chewy, but being able to simply pour a bag into each feeder has been super easy. *The lid LOCKS. Once that delicious kibble is inside, the lid locks so prevent tampering. The "manual feed" button on top can also be disabled to prevent our particularly intelligent cat from serving himself second breakfast (or fourths). *Slow feed options, multiple scheduled feeds, and Alexa pairing to serve up treats between meals? Awesome! Cons: *The bowls don't stay attached to the feeder. So, for the divided feeders, there is no option to hold the bowls in place. The splitter prevents the use of that apparatus. We've experimented with different things to hold their plastic bowls in place, because the sound of the food hitting the metal bowl also scares the cats. It would be REALLY NICE if the company provided grip-mats with the dividers if they can't manufacture a double bowl attachment. Also - the SINGLE bowl attachment is very easily disconnected. That food motivated cat I mentioned? He likes to rock the feeders like a drunk guy tilting a vending machine until a Snickers falls out. The bowl attachment is only held on by gravity, so it separates and when the scheduled feed releases the food falls all over the floor. It's only partially a design flaw, as the other four cats are not tampering with the feeders. *The scheduled feeds are NOT simultaneous - they are sometimes a few minutes apart despite being set for the same time. There is also no consistency to which feeder releases first. We tried unplugging and repairing devices to purposely have the hangry cat's release first, as he tends to bully his way in to the other bowls... but to no avail. Since they are all paired on the same app using the same time, we can't figure out why one will release at 11:58 or 12:00 and another at 12:00 or 12:02 and the last at 12:01 or 12:03. There seems to be no pattern, but it consistently pisses off our cats and makes it hard for them to adjust to the routine, which - in turn - makes it difficult for us to live our lives with unhappy roommates. We would love to try setting one for 11:59, 12:00, and 12:01 to see if they would all actually feed simultaneously then... except you can ONLY feed at 15 minute intervals. *There is no "chime" to alert the cats that is feeding time. When we fed them without robots, we used a handheld clicker to train them. They all respond to that sound and travel to wherever it is coming from. It would be awesome if the feeder could allow for playing a recorded sound. Of course, that would only be useful if the feeders could also work in synchrony. If they truly connected to the Alexa app, I think a lot of these issues would be resolved... but the Alexa compatibility is ONLY to feed a treat on voice command. You can't schedule or include the feeder in Alexa routines. So... we're content with our purchase, but there are still a lot of kinks to be worked out. Hopefully there will be future models with greater compatibility and support for multi-pet households. If anyone else has a way to keep the bowls from sliding, and to prevent hangry food obsessed cats from shaking free loose kibble, please share! He isn't listening to reason.

We had one, and now we have two.
It's a lot of money, but it's worth it for us. We have 2 cats and 2 feeders. We have them set to regular intervals throughout the day. Being able to adjust things in the app is great because it gives you a lot of flexibility. The one thing I will say is, it's quite loud. It startles our cats every time it goes over. There's the sound of the motor, and also the sound of the kibbles hitting the empty stainless steel bowl. It's a lot of noise. One of our cats is on a diet, so one thing I will say is I wish we could actually put out a smaller amount of food. We're trying to do smaller amounts more frequently. That said, it goes down to โ of a cup, so I'm just being picky. One thing that's a bit odd is that we have two feeders, controlled in the same app, set for the same times during the day...but they never actually go off at the same time. Anywhere from a few seconds to about two minutes apart. It would be great if they went off at once so the noise would just happen and be over. While this does offer a lot of flexibility, I also just want to remind people that this is not intended to be something where you leave for days and trust that your cat will be fed and no one needs to check in.

Best smart pet feeder
Hands down the best smart pet feeder. Coming from a Wopet smart feeder, I have experienced no dropped connections or jams/errors. My cat is always fed on time, and the portion control is best in class when compared to the Wopet. I love the feeding notifications that the app provides, as well the simplicity it is to set up a feeding schedule. Although this is slightly more expensive when compared to something like the Wopet, the quality of the feeder is really good and has been reliable.

Don't do it.
So many other sophisticated options that work significantly better at half the price. App is antquated and clunky and did not connect. Had to continually reset. Sent back and waiting for refund.
