It will also take some knocks without breaking, unlike cheaper glass and is dishwasher safe. I would not buy a glass dispenser that is not made from Borosilicate glass. **Q: How long will hot drinks stay hot in this?** A: We used this product over the festive season for mulled wine, we had to put a candlelight under it to keep it warm I’d say it was still warm after an hour or so but not hot. **Q: Does it pour with the lid closed or does it have a valve you need to have open?** A: The lid needs to be closed with a rubber valve on top pushed outward.
