It actually works!
I got this to remove chloramines from my turtles aquarium. With it being a brand I had never heard of- I was of course a little hesitant. I tested my water before the filter and after the filter. Chloramines show up on this test as “total chlorine” (chloramine is chlorine + ammonia) which is the top square on the test. The second square is “free chlorine” which is just regular chlorine. The test on the left is before and the test in the right is after. So it did indeed take out the majority of the chlorine AND chloramines (but it did raise the PH level, the 3rd square on the test). I’m not concerned with PH though. It claims that it is good for 10,000 gallons, and I have an 80 gallon aquarium I have to fill 2/3rd of the way up every week. So when my readings start showing chloramines and chlorine, I will update this review. Overall, this was a cheaper option that having to get an under the sink filter that had to be replaced every 1000 gallons! So far I am very pleased! ***Update: 6/25/19, I've been using this for 7 months now and it's still going strong! I change my turtle's water every 10 days like clock work. I have an 80 gallon tank, and I drain, and would estimate I refill around 40 gallons (sometimes more, but never less) each time. I check the chloramines and chlorine each time. I've double checked my strips with our regular tap water multiple times as well. Our tap shows chloramines, and then once the water runs through this, it doesn't show! Still will update when the actual filter stops doing it's job. ****UPDATE! 2/3/2020, My test strips started to show chlorines, but still not chloramines. Ordering a new filter now! Lasted Nov 2018 until Feb 2020!

Peace of mind
Love this so much, I use it when we play with water with the family. Gives me peach of mind when the splash pad is being used and all that water is being splashed around. Its great.

Excellent results and company.
I've been using this product for 3 years now. I buy a new one each year and one for every 10,000-12,000 gallons of water that I use! Ive had only one issue with one filter. I broke the connector end the one day that I was watering plants and it seemed like it shouldn't have broken. I called the company to and with the first phone call to the company, I reached the owner and he was extremely polite, knowledgeable, and understanding. I told him what happened and he knew why it happend right away - It was because I left the hose and filter connected and sitting in the direct sun for 2 days! He said that it can sometimes make the plastic brittle if the filter sits in direct sun for long periods of time. He offered to replace the product without me asking and he knew it was technically my fault! Awesome product and awesome people! And, I should probably note that I haven't broken one filter since and I sometimes let it sit in the sun for 4 - 5 hours when I'm gardening or forget! Ps. The proof is in the ppm!

Used for hot tub, works well, slow flow
I have a lot of iron in my water (well water). And I live next to a farm, so I assume there is pesticide leaching into the groundwater which I draw from. I was getting heavy iron deposits inside my hot tub after I would fill it with the regular garden hose. I was looking for something to take care of at least some of it. This product does help remove the iron, and it makes the water very clear. It does not remove all the iron, but a significant amount. The filter says it's usable up to 10,000 gallons. I don't think for what I'm using it for it will last that long. I can see it maybe lasting 3-4 tub fills (about 350 gallons each time). Problem is that the flow is greatly reduced. It used to take me maybe an hour or so to fill the tub. Now it's well over 2 hours. Might have to hook up the second hose with one of these to cut that time back. Overall, it's a nice product, well built, made in the USA. Works well for what I'm using it for. Would recommend this product to a friend.

This product is pretty cool. What I write below is purely based on a visual inspection of the water through a clean glass.. when I switch to my 2nd/new filter I hope to use an EC/tds meter. For the first 400 gallons or so the filter worked extremely well.. always used low flow.. never opening up the faucet with high pressure. Around 400g of use I opened it up once and the filter has not run ad well for the last 200 gal or so. I think high pressure disrupts the charcoal and causes the filter to work poorly for a short time. Even when running low flow after I opened it up the water had just as much solids floating around the water as unfiltered did. So, if you want this for a high pressure situation like a shower.. I would call it very ineffective. If you want to fill a large tank to feed your organic garden with just ALWAYS run it very very slow and it works pretty alright. For $36.. cool. But this is not even close to replacing an RO system. For the price it is a cool little tool.. but I have to admit it has been a slight disappointment. When I run the 2nd filter with an EC meter I will update.

Seemed to help my sons eczema
We have a filter on our bath tub but our toddler’s eczema started to flare up and I wondered if it was from playing with his water table. We got this filter and the eczema improved a lot. We are so grateful. It has a great flow rate too.

Works great for Koi!
I bought this product to filter my horrendous city water that I was using to fill my koi pond, and water my plants. This product is super easy to use and works well. When I add water to my pond the fish have zero issues. Previously, I would have to add dechlorinator to my pond water to reduce the chemicals. I prefer using this filter because I am adding less “ingredients” to my pond for a clean and healthy atmosphere for the wildlife. I found that after 2 weeks of everyday use (30-45 min.) of constant flow, I needed to change the filter. I didn’t do any fancy test to see my water quality. I simply did a taste test from the hose; it was clean, and fresh in the beginning. After 2 weeks I could taste the hardness again. You can also screw off the caps and looks inside. The filter turns a dark black color, and becomes heavier in weight after absorbing so many toxins. The price is higher than many would want to pay, but for me this product is totally worth it. The investment I have in my Koi pond, and plants in my garden are worth the extra effort and money to keep healthy. I also read my local city water report and was shocked to see what is added in. Best of luck my fellow gardeners!

Only dropped the contamination level from 198 to 195.
Only dropped the contamination level from 198 to 195. That is all most nothing. I feel you could wad up a T Shird, jam it in the hose and drop it more. I grow hydro lettuce for my restaurant and learned about all the contamination in local water. So we purchased a reverse osmosis system. And I realize fully this is a top of the line system for about 125 that turns tap water into super clean water. Our local water contamination or EC is at about 198. Which honestly could just be mud from the Mississippi here in St. Louis. However, it lowers it from 198 to 0-1. Which is so amazing it feels like magic. I know this. But 198 to 195? That is only 3 points. After studying how to filter water in many many ways I don't think one can jam a garden hose in charcoal and force it through and expect any real results. When you filter cheap vodka to make it taste like BETTER vodka, it has to go very slow. Almost a drip. So, this is not a scam I would say but does not work. However, I would love to be challenged to prove it could. I'm not a scientist. Just a DIY hack.
