Super easy to use. Important for when it matters.
Never actually had to use in real life. But I bought one for myself, and one for my father for Ice fishing. I gave it to him and he already knew how to use it. Despite it being or first time ever holding tools like this. That being said, it is very easy to use, fits nicely, and is cheap and functional.

Must-have for ice fishing in the middle of the lake.
Must-have if you ice fish. I can't say for sure how they work since I have never fallen through the ice but it's nice to know I have them if needed. Seems to be well-made and cord slides though both sleeves for easy access, if needed.

Best $10 I ever spent
Don’t go on the ice without them. I feel thru the ice into 12’ of water. Took me longer to remember than I had self rescue spikes than it took to get out of the water. I was in the water about three minutes. The lake water is very cold in the winter. Also ice skates are completely useless once you’re in the water.

Piece of mind
Great piece of mind when I’m on the ice. Wear them OVER a sweatshirt or the cord will pull hair out. They fit (duh) I smashed on ice to try, they didn’t break.

Falling through the ice into a lake or river in the middle of winter is not a fun experience. Don't fish on unsafe ice, but just in case make sure you have these on as part of your ice fishing outfit. With the pics you actually have a chance to pull yourself back up on the ice and then get the heck out of there to a warmer place.
