I’ve been using purple gatsby for a while and was looking for a switch up. This has more hold, slightly more shine but very natural still, handles flyaways better, and has a slightly wetter more bunched look. It’s also not as sticky which is really nice. No flakes no smears pretty easy to apply. Sad to say bye to gatsby but dashu is a bit better and not that much of a cost increase. The more you use the wetter and bunched it’ll look. Washes out like super well. If you’ve used gatsby…. You know it doesn’t come out after a wash, hence why you should always use clarifying shampoo once a week. Usually at the end of the week my hair feels like there’s still buildup after shampooing. With dashu my hair feels so clean after each shower lol it’s like night and day. To address bad reviews… I would not use this for a more natural look. There’s a bit of hold and structure to it. Also make sure to really rub your hands together to heat it up and get it soft. Other reviewers get flakes because they don’t do this. ALWAYS do this with any product. If your hair style won’t hold with this wax then it won’t hold with any wax…. Always top it off with hair spray if you have a style that clearly needs it. All the celebrities or super nice hair you see online? All hair spray finished. Even with fixing up throughout the day after 25 mph winds, no flaking at all. Complaints about amount… it’s the same weight as most others in the market. It’s cheaper than a clay that I use from Ulta that was $25 for about the same amount. Maybe some people here are used to using cheap dollar store wax idk. I have medium hair at a low density. It’s super flat without styling. Two block: #2 sides and top goes down to top of eyes. Prestyled with water to reset and verb ghost whip for texture. Styled with round brush (JJu.dre #3 or 1.7 inch brush) and hair dryer (YouTube Isaac Yiu for help). Finished with dashu wax and got2b glued hairspray. 15-20 minutes. Cleanup with any regular shampoo (clarifying shampoo once a week for buildup I like living proof brand) and condition Briogeo Farewell Frizz.

Second time I bought this same wax. Works perfect for my short hair to spike up. One bottle lasts me over a year and I use it a lot. Just takes a little bit of product for great hold. Doesn’t get sticky or creat dandruff like other products. Hair still feels soft but holds style.

This stuff is pretty great. Nice amount of old and textured but not sticky. Im sensitive to strong scents and this product is slightly dented, but I find the scent fairly neutral and pleasant. Product came properly wrapped and packed for shipping, but container arrived slightly dented so it doesn't sit flat on the counter. Most likely not the fault of he seller and it didn't affect the product so not a big deal for me, but might bother someone else. Container is smaller than I'd imagined so a bit more expensive that I'd expected (labeling and description were accurate so not fault of seller). I like product enough, however, that I'm ok with the price.

Best product I got to the matte finish! Really feels and looks like I didn’t put anything on my hair! Keeps the hair in place and doesn’t smell bad! Great value for the money even if I wanted a little more in the box. This is on my subscribe list!

Has strong hold. Flakes really badly… if you touch your hair, it will look like terrible dandruff. And very difficult to wash out - takes about three or four washes to get it out.

Astonishingly good styling product. I have ridiculously challenged hair. You name it and my hair has to deal with it. Hormonal issues causing thinning and breakage was just the start. Then I had to add daily medication that weakened it further (and destroyed my nails) but at least makes sure I'm here to pout about it! As I have a pixie cut, I wanted something that would hold AND be kind to my hair. This product is easily the best thing I've used. I'm limited to washing my hair once a week, so any hair product needs to high performance. At first glance I thought this would be great but expensive. I was half right! Yes, expensive on initial outlay, but if all I need is a pea sized amount each week, I think it's going to be MORE cost effective rather than less. My hair looks natural but stays in place (neurospicy friends take note - it doesn't feel weird or sticky or stiff), it's so flexible I can stand my hair up and then put it back to where it should be with no effort. The coconut smell is very light so zero issues there. On the negative side, your hair will shed less, your scalp with love you and your (super fussy) hair dresser will demand a link. Oh, and you'll need to get a trim every 4 weeks instead of 6 because you will have no breakage. Not sure how I'll use the entire tub by 2028 though, lol. Remember, to get the best from the product you need to rub it between your hands until it goes clear and THEN run your hands through your hair (it doesn't pull like others I've used). I highly recommend this. It's worked beautifully for me.

The product failed to fulfill the description and use. Perhaps the worse hair styling product I used - no better than coloured water in a jar. However, I gave an extra star for the slick packaging and marketing - sucked me in completly.
