Bend them in the opposite direction of the curve of the clip, they’ll pop open. Bend back again to close.

Are the extensions shiny / plastic looking?

They are shiny like hair should be. Blends great mist people think it's my hair. However I would advise against using heat like curling irons. They loose shine and start looking fraied
